It can make pain if the rein is connected hardly.
Harness: A harness is a set of the device which attaches a horse to a cart, carriage, or other loads. There are two types of harness- Breaststrap and collar and hames type. The types differ in how the load weight is attached. The harness is made of leather usually. But some designs are of nylon webbing or synthetic biothane.

Bits: Bit is a device that is placed in the mouth of the horse. There are different types of bits. Bit act with direct pressure on the lips and tongue of the horse. So even with the wrong position, the mildest bit may make the horse hurt.
Breastplates and martingales: Breastplates are attached to the front of the saddle, the cross of the chest; they keep the saddle from safe from sliding. These are usually seen in fast-paced sports. A Martingale is a piece of equipment that stops a horse from raising its' head too high. It is used as a controller.
