Bow Pose (Dhanurasana) (don-your-AHS-anna) ~This is a full-backward bend posture~ Note: You could also wrap a strap around the fronts of your ankles and hold the free ends of the strap, keeping your arms fully extended, if you have difficulty holding your ankles and/or calves. Benefits: -Stretches the entire front of the body, ankles, thighs and groins, abdomen and chest, & deep hip flexors (psoas) -Strengthens and builds the back muscles -Improves posture -Stimulates the organs of the abdomen and neck

@curateyoga hehe... you hit the nail on the head!! I totally thought of the band as a crutch!! I have totally rethink how I do some poses!
Oh my goodness.....resistance bands can absolutely be used as a tool to help you go deeper in many poses!! I often have my students in class use straps so that they can go deeper than they'd ever be able to on their own! Try not to look at bands as a crutch and instead as an awesome tool!!
@curateyoga... you can get deeper? i'm going to have to try it again. I thought people used yoga resistance bands because they can't hold poses?
