This scene from the movie "Vengo" by Tony Gatlif is a great example of what Arabic-Latin fusion can be and how beautiful it sounds. The movie is about a conflict between two rival family clans, and features two seminal artists in two diverse genres: Tomatito and Sheikh Ahmad Al-tuni. José Fernández Torres, also known as Tomatito, is a Spanish Romani flamenco artist, and the winner of two Latin Grammys. Sheikh Ahmad Al-tuni is an Egyptian sufi chanter who popularized the music of Sufism across Egypt. His works are characterized by a blend of ancient poetry and colloquial songs. Hope you enjoy!
This was very cool! Great mix of sounds!
