I adore Lewis Watson. His lyrics and melodies are incredible! Can't wait for his first album coming in June! "Plenty of musicians give credit to YouTube for part of their discovery--Byrdie, Maxine Ashley, and Walk Off The Earth, we're looking at you!--and Lewis Watson is the latest in a long long of majorly talented artists who's currently blowing up with a little help from a Wi-Fi connection. On top of clear, heartfelt vocals and a gorgeous folk-pop vibe, that is. After posting his cover of Bombay Bicycle Club's "Swansea" online back in 2010, it wasn't long before the English singer and songwriter started growing a huge (we're talking millions here) following--and for good reason, because as soon as you press play on any of this wistful, intimate tracks, you realize just how good this guy really is. It's no surprise, then, that the 21-year-old has since moved on to bigger and better things, releasing five EPs and prepping his debut album, out this summer. You'll have to wait until June for that, but in the meantime, we have some brand new music right this second. Watson just debuted his latest single "Stay" with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, and now, even better? We've got the premiere of the song's new video! And after getting the scoop from Watson about the backstory, the dark, gorgeous visuals correspond perfectly: "'Stay' was written about a dream I had a while back," he explained. "In the dream there was a girl who was singing a song that I thought was incredible. I'd never heard the song before so I tried to wake myself up to write what I'd heard but it was so nice that it was impossible to wake up from. Like a lullaby. The rest of the dream happened and when I woke up, I couldn't remember the song and, frustrated, I wrote this song about the song and the girl from the dream. The video reflects that in the way that our girl really wants to be a part of this dream-like, fantasy graveyard and at the end, she's back to reality and on her own." So take a break from reality and watch the video below. There's no doubt: Lewis Watson really is out of this world. "
@peteryang292 he's very popular in the uk and his shows sell out really fast in america. I think with his debut album he'll really get his big break.
@caricakes hmmm I guess I'll have to keep my eye out for him! I didn't know he was British--I'm usually so thrown off (not in a bad way!) when a singer or actor I like turns out to be British. Sometimes you can't tell from the (American) characters they play or the songs they sing lol
@caricakes Lewis Watson is getting more and more popular right? I've seen his name and videos floating around the internet but never took the time to listen to his work. Glad I did though! He was a great voice
oh just kidding I read the article...21?! so young haha
How old is Lewis? He looks pretty young haha
