The birthplace of the Hamburger Sandwich according to Louis' Lunch Restaurant in New Haven est.1895. It seems simple but I think the key is in the 5 different cuts of meat in the patty. Prep time: 20 mins Cook time: 8 mins Serves: 8 INGREDIENTS: ½ pound each ground beef : chuck, rib eye, top round, bottom round, boneless spare ribs. 16 slices hearty white bread Lettuce Tomato Onion Salt and pepper Cheese of your choice Butter DIRECTIONS: 1. Grind meat and mix together 2. Form 6 thick patties and season each side with salt and pepper 3. Butter one side of each slice of bread and toast in a skillet on medium heat or on a griddle until golden brown. Set aside. 4. Fire up the grill and cook each patty for 4 minutes per side for medium. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty after you turn them and have cooked for 2 minutes. Place on bread and add garnish Author: Gary@ The Spice Kit Recipes

I didn't know the hamburger was originally from Connecticut! Super interesting. I've never had a burger between plain white bread--should give it a try!
A burger between white bread sounds delicious.
