Salvatore Ferragamo pledged €600,000 to renovate part of the Uffizzi Gallery in Florence, Italy . Their donation will allow the museum to renovate 8 rooms a year. Which will allow for space to house 50 works dating back to the 15th century. Ferruccio Ferragamo, the company’s president, stressed that this contribution is a “liberal disbursement’ and that the company will not, in any way benefit from it’s donation. Ferragamo is not first, and I hope definitely not the last company to give back to the Uffizi Gallery. Previously, Dolce & Gabbana donated it’s proceeds from its book sales to a project which aimed to allow for masterpieces available to view online.
