Chipotle Promotes Backstreet Boys, The Arts, & Nutrition?
With bad news in the form of store closings and salmonella outbreaks, it's safe to say that Chipotle has seen the worst year. However, with bad press comes more creative marketing, right?
In comes Chipotle's latest viral campaign, which marries all the 'fresh ingredients blah-blah' of a major fast food chain with independent artists to create animated shorts that are, well, the cutest propaganda I ever did see.
This isn't their stab at pulling customers in with cartoons; however, with over 3.5 million views in a mere two days, it's easily their most successful.
'A Love Story' explores a childhood rivalry that turns into a whole lot more - thanks to capitalism, sparkle-flavored slushies, and a charming cover of 'I Want It That Way' by Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes) and Jim James (My Morning Jacket).
(Yeah, you know you're getting old when the pop songs you grew up on are officially stale enough to be recycled by hip indie bands.) I'd give you the whole story, but well, it's way more fun to watch.
Watch the whole love story unfold by clicking the embedded clip above.
Then let me know: Is this the cutest commercial you've ever seen? (And is it 'Let's eat at Chipotle again!' good?)
