Swedish Pimple Lure
www.youtube.com
Don't laugh--that's the real name of this lure. I'm really not sure why, but this lure is a really popular one, especially for ice fishing. It mainly gets you some perch or walleyes in ice, and sometimes open water. The video above shows how this can be used to catch perch while ice fishing. I've heard that the chartreuse color is best for attracting perch, and some even go so far as to put a fresh perch eyeball (yep) on one of the hooks to get the scent in the water. This lure doesn't have to be limited to one environment, though, which is why it has been popular for over 100 years. It can be used in both freshwater and saltwater situations, and works best jigged. People have caught perch, walleyes, trout, salmon, pan fish, bass and salt water species all with this one lure. Pretty versatile, right? Each lure has a treble hook at the end as well as a red flipper that will help draw fish in. Additionally, there's a wide range of colors available (see image #2), which adds to the versatility. There are also a few different sizes available. My hint is that the #5 is about the same as a 1/4 ounce lure; you can adjust from there.

swedish...pimple? XD fine I won't laugh. is there a reason this one needs a treble hook instead of a single set?

@fallingwater for a stronger, faster hook set, I think. it could be changed out for a single hook though as long as the hook aint too pliable.

@mcgraffy cool, thanks! not that I'll necessarily be trying this, but deciding what hook to use is confusing
