6 Laser Hair Removal Myths Busted And More
Have you ever calculated how much time you devote to hair removal? Hair removal on the legs, underarms, brows, and arms has become a daily, weekly, and monthly ritual, but it does not have to be. Hair removal is a time-consuming and thankless task because it keeps growing back. Shaving, waxing, and threading all have advantages, but what if you didn't have to choose any of these because the hair was permanently removed? This is where modern laser hair removal techniques come into play. The Diode laser is considered the "gold standard" in hair removal machines. This machine has a built-in cooling system and reduces the risk of hyperpigmentation. Laser Hair Removal vs Laser Hair Reduction Modern laser hair removal methods recognise that hair removal may not be completely permanent, and many clients will need to return for touch-up sessions from time to time. This is reflected in the fact that many clinics now refer to the procedure as hair reduction rather than hair removal. What Is Laser Hair Removal? Laser hair removal works by destroying the ability of the hair follicle to grow new hair. This means that hair removal will be reduced indefinitely. These hair follicles can regrow over time, possibly as a result of hormonal changes, so maintenance treatments may be required. Myths surrounding Laser Hair Removal Is laser hair removal only for hair? It can also treat other types of skin problems, such as vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, hemangioma, and nail fungus, to name a few. Is it painful to use laser hair removal? Not at all; the Diode laser that we use has a specialised cooling system to keep you comfortable and pain-free. Is hair removal only for women? Certainly not! We can help you get the best skin you can, whether you're male, female, trans, young, or old! Women are often the most frequent users of LHR, but they are not the only ones. Laser hair removal is effective on all hair colours. No, this is not true; this treatment can only be used on dark hair. Other treatments are available for people with light hair, so make an appointment with your dermatologist to discuss your options. I don't have to shave before treatment. This is also false. For the majority of people, shaving the area prior to treatment is the best course of action. Waxing, threading, or epilation can all cause problems. I can get treatment if I have a tan. This is also false; treatment cannot be performed if you have a tan.
Are jackpot candles worth it?
For the last few years, jackpot candles have been one of the most popular party trends. But are they actually worth it? If you're having a dinner party, will you really be able to use up all of those extra candles? And how much do jackpot candles cost anyway? Check out this blog post for answers to all your burning questions. 1. Why jackpot candles are worth it Jackpot candles are worth it because they’re affordable, last a long time, and can be used to make a whole room smell good. If you’re someone who can’t afford designer candles, scented candles are a good option. They’re a great way to fill up a room with a specific scent. They also make a great gift — if you can find a scented candle in the right size that matches the color of your existing decorations. How Do You Use Jackpot Lights? They can be used to create an intimate atmosphere. If you’re hosting a dinner party, sprinkling a few scented candles on your dinner table is a far better way to create an “nerdy but fun” atmosphere, rooted in the basic human need to connect and be social. So is it worth sacrificing your current candle collection for better bang for your buck? Let’s take a look at what people are saying: “I purchased 40-60 scent- and scent- candles to add to the house’s scent. I love them! The smell is subtle, yet noticeable. They smell like a spring evening with cinnamon and fruity-flavored fruits.” — Mollie R. “It takes a moment to get used to it, but once you do, your home/office smell is amazing. Sherri made the best batch I have yet!” — Carol S. “I use raised pool lights. I am writing my master’s thesis now and it smells great as I am writing.” — Tim G. “They start out the room smelling of candles but after awhile they can also smell like organic fruits and flowers.” — Brian P. “My candles from 8/$10. The only issue I had was jar they fell out and they weren't replaceable.” — Karen W. “The candles I’ve used so far, seemed high priced but their results have been excellent.” — Tim S. That said, like any party trend, there are tradeoffs if you want a great scented candle that lasts a long time. 2. How much do jackpot candles cost? Most jackpot candles cost $30-$50, depending on the size. Just make sure to read the fine print. Some candles have a $30 shipping fee if you don’t live in the US, or you’ll be charged an international shipping fee, which can add a few dollars to the total cost. The biggest benefit of using jackpot candles is that they can last up to six months, as long as they’re stored in a cool, dark place. If you purchase a small batch of candles for a dinner party, you may be able to use up all of them before the remainder run out. The biggest danger of using candles with high lume is the danger of spillage. Jackpot candles work by filling your home with a yellow light. The more of these you use, the more likely you are to drift off to sleep. Since manufacturers recommend using them only within a nine-foot cone, you should avoid placing more than two candles in one room. The problem with reading this article now is that most jackpot candles are discontinued after a limited time. It’s the same with a lot of other holiday party products. If you’re looking to maximize the value of your firework or traditional decoration purchases, do your research ahead of time. While most of these are relatively inexpensive, it’s always a good idea to avoid purchasing anything that has expiration dates. If buying a few candles is something that interests you this year, jackpot candles might be your best option. But make sure to take advantage of the great deals they’re currently offering if you want to save the best for last. Now go make the best out of your gift giving this year. 3. How many candles do you get in a jackpot candle? If you’re just starting out with jackpot candles, you might be wondering how many candles you get in a jackpot candle. You might also wonder how many candles you get in a jackpot candle that’s a certain size. I think we all understand what a miniature jackpot candle looks like. These are awful, and they cost a pretty penny to make, even if they look pretty. You probably have several little mini-sized candles tucked away. How many candles do you get in this ‘small’ candle? A “small” candle is really just that — it has less wax burned into it than other sizes. So, if there are 6 mini-sized or smaller candles, you could get 60 candles in this one. Or, if you had 9 mini-sized or smaller candles, you would get 103 candles. But of course, the larger the candle, the more wax (we’ll explain this later), so the bigger the candle, the more candles you get in total. A “medium” candle is just that: it has a little bit more wax in it than other sizes. Here, for example, are two “medium” candles — you get 85 in total, but only 60 of those are “medium” size. So, why are they called “medium” instead of “small”? Because they pack a lot more wax in there than some of the smaller candles. Let’s say you have 3 “medium” candles. You’ll have 153 total candles in your “small” candle. Medium-sized candles usually have around 12–15 to 18 candles in them, but well, “medium” isn’t always the size that comes with the most wax burned into it and therefore the most candles. If you have a 4th “medium” candle, you’ll get 183 total. Now we’re back to “small” vs “medium” — then the 4th candle would probably be “small” again because it would only have 4–6 candles in it. 4. How much wax is in a jackpot candle? Jackpot Candles are made from soy wax, which is a renewable resource. Soy wax is a healthier alternative to paraffin and beeswax candles because it’s free of toxins and is made from a renewable resource. The soy beans used to make soy wax are grown in the USA and are non-GMO and pesticide-free. For the last several years, the wax production process has remained pretty much the same. The candle factory produces the wax by adding small amounts of colored pigments to soy oil mixed with sand and beads. The resulting candle is then infused with essential oils, molecules that act as herbal medicine. Before you purchase a batch of candles, the factory will prepare some samples to give away to select customers (green, yellow, pink, blue, red, etc.). The point of this is to test out the colors for each batch of candles to make sure they all look the same. Once the test runs are over, the samples go to the general public. 5. Can you really use up all of those extra candles? The great thing about candles is that you can make them last longer if you know how to burn them properly. Here are a few tips: 1) Never leave your candle burning unattended. 2) Always trim your wicks. 3) Use glass containers to protect your wick from wick-eating insects. 4) Don’t be afraid to use clear containers, or you might lose all of those slimy green strands instead. 5) When you use a clear container, make sure you keep it away from other items like cutlery, plates, glasses, and silverware. 6) Lit candles To ensure your candle burns evenly without getting too hot, place it in a bowl filled with equal volumes of water and non-sparkling salt. The less water in the bowl, the less chance your candle has of getting too hot. If you use clear or plastic containers, fill them with the needed amount of water. (Glass containers work well for this.) Place the bowl over the candle, close the lid tightly and let the candle sit for a few minutes, until the salt settles. From time to time, flip the bowl upside down and pour more water in to make the water boil. Once the fluid starts to boil, gently lower the bowl over the candle and open it once the water has boiled away. It’s best if the surface of the water is perfectly even with no bubbles. Wait a few minutes for the water to cool before opening the cover. Then, place the container with the candle into the refrigerator to cool to room temperature. (A little dropping on the surface of the water isn’t a bad thing.) 6. How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Many patients ask us, "How does laser hair removal work?" But, more often than not, what they really want to know is, "Is laser hair removal safe and effective, and will it work on me?" Laser hair removal may sound like a terrifying procedure that involves shooting a laser gun at your skin like something from a spy movie. However, this is not how laser hair removal actually looks. Laser hair removal is becoming increasingly popular, and it's easy to see why when you learn how effective it is. We'll answer your questions here so you can make the best choice for your lifestyle and skin. Laser Hair Removal Is Safe Obviously, the most important question to ask whenever you try a new skin treatment is whether it is safe. When you're out in public, everyone can see your skin. People are usually scared of the word "laser" when it comes to laser hair removal because it sounds dangerous. The truth is that the lasers used in laser hair removal are extremely effective at destroying only hair follicles while leaving the rest of your skin unharmed. The US FDA strictly regulates all lasers used for hair removal to ensure their safety. Hair removal lasers are referred to as "lasers" because they emit extremely concentrated light. This specialised light is absorbed by your hair follicles, which convert the light energy into heat. Heat harms your hair's follicle, which is responsible for hair growth. This targeted damage to the hair follicle is what removes unwanted hair and reduces the likelihood of it growing back. Hair removal lasers are designed to target melanin in the hair. Melanin is the pigment that gives colour to your body hair. The laser targets the hair from the shaft down into the follicle by using the contrast between the melanin and your skin. Because laser hair removal works by reducing the ability of your hair follicles to regrow hair, it must be done gradually. The fact that the procedure is done over time contributes to the procedure's safety because the laser's level is low enough to damage only the hair follicles and not the surrounding skin. Laser Hair Removal Is Worth Your Investment Laser hair removal requires an investment of your time; however, when you consider how long the results will last, it is relatively inexpensive. Consider how much time and money you spend on your current hair removal method when deciding whether or not laser hair removal is a good option for you. For example, if you shave your legs, try keeping track of how much time you spend shaving each week. Then figure out how many razor-head replacements you go through in a week. Then multiply this cost by the number of weeks and months in a year to get the current, annual cost of hair removal. The Time Commitment Laser hair removal can take anywhere from 2 to 6 sessions, depending on your skin and hair type. The length of each session is determined by the size of the area being shaved. Small areas, such as the upper lip or armpits, can take 5-15 minutes, whereas larger areas, such as your legs or back, can take up to an hour per session. You can expect to wait 4-6 weeks between sessions. This is due to the fact that hair grows in cycles, and the laser is most effective at killing your hair when it is actively growing. One of the most common mistakes people make with laser hair removal is going to a couple of sessions, seeing a reduction in hair growth, and then failing to return for their remaining sessions. What is actually happening when you notice this initial reduction in hair growth is that your hair is in a dormant period and will re-grow quickly once this cycle is completed. That is why it is essential to attend the recommended number of sessions. How Much Money Do You Really Spend? The average cost of laser hair removal is between $300 and $500. However, this varies greatly depending on the size of the area you're removing hair from and the number of sessions your hair requires. Many facilities offer financing for aesthetic treatments. The initial cost of this hair removal method may appear to be high. Laser hair removal, on the other hand, is expected to provide months to years of smooth skin at a time. If you multiply the amount you currently spend on shaving or waxing over months and years, the cost is likely comparable to what you'll pay as a one-time fee for laser hair removal. You may be wondering why, if laser hair removal works so well and is so inexpensive, not everyone is doing it. The truth is that there are numerous misconceptions about laser hair removal that deter people from using it. How to Get Ready There are things you can do to prepare your skin for a healthy laser hair removal session, as well as things you can do to care for your skin after each session. The best way to decide whether to commit to laser hair removal is to speak with your skin specialist about your hair removal options.

5 Ways To Tell Your Vitamin D Is Low and 5 Foods That Are High in Vitamin D
Several generations ago, it was common for parents to leave their naked infants in the sun every day for good health. Our modern minds are prone to exclaiming, "That's insane! Did they apply sunscreen first?” Although it may not be how we would do it today, these parents did help their children get enough vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency is an epidemic in the United States, affecting as many as 90 percent of some adult populations. This is a serious public health issue that must be addressed. What Is the Function of Vitamin D? Vitamin D, which is actually a hormone, differs from other vitamins. Our body can produce the majority of what we require rather than relying on food. But It is not the same fo for vitamin D. Vitamin D is also known as the “sunshine vitamin” because it is produced by our bodies when sunlight is converted into chemicals that can be used by the body. When UVB rays strike our skin, a substance in our skin converts to D3, which then travels through our bloodstream to our kidneys and liver. Vitamin D is fat-soluble and is found in the body's fatty tissues as well as the liver. It is an important nutrient for overall health, and studies show that a lack of it can lead to brittle bones, breast cancer, colon cancer, autoimmune disorders, high blood pressure, and heart disease. What Is the Best Way to Get Vitamin D? Our body makes vitamin D primarily through exposure to sunlight, and with adequate exposure, we can produce adequate amounts. With the rise in skin cancer over the last few decades, however, many people now wear sunscreen, limiting the opportunity for the skin to do its incredible sunlight conversion. It is difficult to strike a balance between the need to get enough vitamin D and the need to protect our skin from damage. And, because it varies from person to person, there is no precise amount of sunlight that doctors can point to as the ideal amount for vitamin D production. Experts recommend 10-20 minutes of sun exposure per day in general, but this varies greatly depending on the individual and their location. People with dark skin produce less of the nutrient than those with light skin. Young people outnumber older people in terms of output. And those living north of Atlanta in the United States will find it nearly impossible to get enough UVB exposure during the winter, no matter how willing they are to forego sunscreen. 5 Vitamin D Deficiency Symptoms Blood tests ordered by your doctor are the only way to diagnose low vitamin D levels, but here are some warning signs to look out for and discuss with your doctor: 1. Infections and illnesses are common. Vitamin D receptors are found throughout our body, including on immune cells. One of vitamin D's primary functions is to assist our bodies in fighting infections. If you are prone to colds, flu, and respiratory infections, you may be deficient in this essential nutrient. 2. Pain in the muscles and bones. Vitamin D is well known for its role in osteoporosis prevention because it aids calcium absorption. However, it also appears to have anti-inflammatory properties. If you suffer from chronic bone, back, or muscle pain, you may need to increase your D levels. 3. Fatigue on a regular basis. Adults can easily dismiss their constant tiredness as a result of getting older and busier. Even when patients look for the source of their chronic fatigue, vitamin D deficiency is frequently overlooked. However, studies show that extremely low levels of this nutrient cause chronic fatigue and tiredness. 4. Hair thinning. This is a symptom that many people immediately associate with stress. While stress can be a cause of hair loss, vitamin D deficiency should also be considered. Low levels have been linked to the autoimmune disorder alopecia areata, which causes severe hair loss all over the body. 5. Depression. There are vitamin D receptors in the part of the brain that influences the development of depression, so a lack of the nutrient may result in the disorder. Low levels of D have been linked to depression in studies conducted in Norway and Sweden. 5 Vitamin D Rich Foods Because most of us are unable or unwilling to spend enough unprotected time in the sun to produce vitamin D, we must rely on food sources. Here are five foods that will help you increase your levels: Fatty Fish Because vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, it must be combined with fat to be utilised. Vitamin D is abundant in fish such as salmon, tuna, herring, and sardines. These fish are also high in protein and healthy fats. Lamb and Beef Liver Although many people do not consider organ meat to be a favourite food, it is extremely nutrient-dense and a great source of vitamin D. Beef liver, in addition to being high in D, is also high in iron, making it a nutritional powerhouse. Egg Yolk Eggs are well-known for being high in protein, but their yolks also contain a significant amount of vitamin D. Unfortunately, due to cholesterol concerns, egg yolks have spent a lot of undeserved time on the Western world's naughty list of foods. Fortunately, that era has passed, and we now recognise the incredible health and nutritional benefits of eggs. Fortified Foods Vitamin D is added to many foods, including cereals, oatmeal, milk, and orange juice. Although these items are not as effective as other food sources at delivering nutrients, they are useful in addressing deficiencies in the population, particularly among children. Shellfish Shrimp and oysters are both low-calorie vitamin D sources, making them ideal for a healthy diet. Oysters have the added benefit of being high in B12.
Why Is Shampoo Bad For Your Hair? And How To Wash Instead.
Certain chemicals found in some shampoos can be harmful to your hair. While this is not a call to stop using shampoos entirely, it should make you aware that there are alternatives available if you want to pursue them! Having said that, what are some of the negative effects of shampoo? 1. It shortens the life of your hair. That's a fancy way of saying that if you use shampoo, you'll have to wash your hair more frequently, which sounds counterintuitive. Shampoos, in general, can leave a nasty buildup of chemicals on your scalp, which can wreak havoc on your skin over time. Your scalp will eventually become so saturated with these chemicals that it will do strange things like overproduce oils this is probably why my scalp is so greasy. 2. It causes frizz in your hair. This is particularly true for those of us who have curly hair. I know I don't look it based on my profile picture, but my hair can get pretty loopy if left to its own devices. I have noticed that it frizzes up significantly more after washing it with shampoo than when I leave it alone. 3. It will trap you in a viscious cycle. You'd like to stop using shampoo, but if you do, your scalp will go nuts producing oils, making you look completely ridiculous. Try waiting a couple of weeks, your scalp will calm down. Stay strong and don't give in to the urge and shampoo before that. If you want to get away from the shampooing craze, do this when you don't have to be seen in public for a good 2 weeks! 4. It's also wasteful. Using shampoo is apparently frowned upon in the “zero waste” community. This is because most people go through it quickly especially if you have longer hair, and as a result, you'll end up using a lot of plastic bottles. Shampoo alternatives are much more environmentally friendly, as you'll see in a moment. 5. It cannot be washed away. This is a little ironic. Shampoo removes almost everything from your hair except itself. Because your hair is porous, it absorbs whatever is in your shampoo like a sponge over time. You'll have hair loss issues if you use a cheap shampoo or one with chemicals that don't mix well with your scalp. The only way to truly remove the shampoo gunk from your hair is to use a super-strong shampoo designed specifically for this purpose, or to simply wait it out and let your scalp dispose of it naturally. What can you do now that you're aware of some of the negative effects of shampoo? 1. Use the “No-Poo” method. This method essentially eliminates shampoo from the equation. One of the simplest ways to start is to use a small amount of conditioner in your hair while showering instead of lathering up a wad of shampoo and conditioner every time you wash up. Conditioner is gentler on your hair than shampoo and should keep your scalp and strands moisturised without causing too much damage. 2. Use alternative scalp and hair cleansers. Apple cider vinegar can be used as a shampoo substitute. Some people seem to tolerate it better than others, as some have complained that the vinegar smell is unbearable, while others claim they don't notice anything. I suppose it all depends on the individual. In essence, apple cider vinegar acts as a natural conditioner. To combat any salad dressing-like after-smells, this blog suggests mixing two tablespoons of vinegar with water and rosemary. 3. Make use of natural shampoos. Those who said they had no luck with “no-poo” or apple cider vinegar reported success with natural shampoos. These are shampoos made entirely of natural ingredients, as you might expect. To find them, on online shopping sites (just type in "natural shampoos") is your best bet, though I'm sure your local Walmart has a selection of products like this as well. Labels, as always, should be avoided. Always read the ingredients on the back of the bottle to ensure that the shampoo you're considering is truly "natural." What do you have to lose by trying out this new anti-shampoo craze if you have greasy, frizzy hair? It appears to be working for many people, so it's worth a shot! Do speak to your hair specialist if you have any prexisting scalp issues.
How to Make the Right Choices in Indian Jewellery

This seems even more daunting when one is presented with many options, both online and offline. You’re left spoilt for choice, as it still seems tricky to get a piece that matches your style statement. If you too face such a dilemma, then Indian jewellery is the way to go. With a vivid range of stunning options, we are here to help you make choices that are smart, trendy, and easy on the pocket. So read on to know about which piece to wear and when, as you next go jewellery shopping. The Pretty Choker Chokers are a great antique jewellery option for many occasions. Be it a wedding, a semi-formal gathering or an evening party, no other jewellery makes a statement as a choker does. However, the trick lies in carrying off the look with ease and elan. If you wish to pick a pretty choker that adds to your look, keep these in mind. a. If you have a long and slender neck, then you’re in luck. You can choose any style you like, and this jewellery will complement your look. b. If you have a short neck then its best to avoid large chokers, as these may make your neck look wide. Instead, opt for slender and delicate pieces. c. The fit of the choker is essential too. Avoid pieces that sit too tight or are too loose. Instead, measure your neck and get the choker adjusted to be 7cms more than the circumference of your neck. d. The shape of your face has a role to play too. While round faces may look rounder with a choker, an oval face is well complemented by this piece of jewellery. All-Occasion Indian Earrings The one piece of jewellery that goes with every dress and compliments you on every occasion is a lovely pair of Indian earrings. From the elegant and beautiful studs and loops, to elaborate Jhumkas and Chandbalis, there’s more variety than one can imagine. However, while choosing Indian earrings for a special occasion, do keep the below-mentioned aspects in mind. a. If the occasion is a formal one then opt for understated, classy studs or loops. Opt for contemporary designs that complement your outfit if you’re dressing for a party. Bring in the bling with elaborate pieces if you’re dressing for a wedding. b. If you have a round face, opt for long earrings, giving the illusion of length. Those with an oval face can opt for jewellery that’s wider at the base, such as teardrop-shaped pieces. c. Keep a check on the colour and material of the piece you choose to wear. Avoid bright plastic materials, instead, go for statement jewellery in traditional Indian styles to accentuate your appearance. Indian Necklaces & Bridal Jewellery You may have feasted your eyes on a vivid range of Indian necklaces and bridal jewellery. However choosing the pieces that suit your style and the occasion are of absolute importance. Before opting for a necklace or sets of bridal jewellery, do keep the following aspects in mind. a. From simple statement necklaces that complement the evening parties and dinner occasions to elaborate pieces that are more celebratory, the first aspect to consider is the occasion. b. Keeping your attire in mind while shopping for jewellery can help you create a harmonious look. Ensure that the length and design do not clash with the neckline of your dress. It could spoil the look. Keep in mind that the colours of your outfit complement the colours of the jewellery you choose to wear. c. Keep the length of the necklace such that it complements your best features. Opt for shorter pieces if you wish to flaunt your neck, while longer pieces can accentuate your collar bones. Whatever style of jewellery you choose, ensure that it reflects the kind of person you are. Rather than buying a piece that’s the in thing, please choose based on how it reflects your persona. So whether you are the jewellery minimalist or the kind who likes to go all-out, take your pick on what you like best. Do visit our website www.tarinika.com to check out our collection. How to make a ring jewelry candle | Jewelry In Candles Rings
If you're looking for a way to make your home smell great, give jewelry candles a shot. These candles are made with real jewelry and actually burn down like regular candles. While they cost more than the regular run-of-the-mill scented candles you can buy at the store, they sure have an impressive visual effect that makes them worth it. This post takes us through all the steps involved in making your own jewelry candle and gives tips on how to get really creative with it. 1. What you'll need to make a jewelry candle To make a jewelry candle you'll need: candle wicks, votive holders, jewelry findings, jewelry, and essential oils (optional). To make a jewelry candle, you’ll need ingredients you can find at a jewelry store. The general ingredients are: Cotton (linen preferred, but hemp works as well) Eggs (colored varieties are greatest), Pellets or brick, Chaff Distilled white vinegar Freshly ground black pepper Oil These are the basic tools you’ll need to prepare the candles. It is recommended to invest in a candle maker for the process, as they make it a lot easier when applying the wax and other products to the candle. You can buy candles directly from jewelry stores or directly from cosmetic supply companies such as chemhalt — they make candle containers, handles, holders, and the like. Wire cutters, a small piece of cardboard, a tin can, and a knife are useful tools for cutting up candles for candles. To get started, take a wick from your jewelry store. For this jewelry candle, I used an ivory candle wick from Sally Hansen. Craft wax will usually work, but it’s probably a good idea to try wax candles if you choose to do so. Pellets and bricks should cost around $10 each, but if you can find them used, they’re probably not too expensive. You can also find candles pre-sterilized in jewelry stores. Next, you’ll need to find votive holders. I suggest purchasing gray votive holders because they’re easier to see your candle in the light. Next, you’ll need to find jewelry. You can buy jewelry at the jewelry from unrivaled candles, but it’s going to have to be colored. If you have a lot of pink jewelry, you can really use the candles to lighten up the room and make it feel more festive. 2. How to make a ring-shaped jewelry candle Ring-shaped candles are a neat way to make a candle that looks like jewelry. If you want to make one, you’ll need a candle mold, which you can get from unrivaled candles. It will give you the opportunity to make variations of the same ring shape that will fit nicely inside your candle mold. The jewelry candles we made had practical uses. One I made was a sort of travel mug that took up very little room. Another was meant to give off a warm ambiance in my office for cooking. First, you’ll need to empty your jewelry drawer. Then you’ll need clean, dry, and free of oils (unflavored) jewelry screws. And finally, you’ll need something that looks nice (preferably cotton). When used correctly, the jewelry screws will hold ceramic rods in jewelry molds and make the candle bigger and therefore better smelling. One way to clean your screw heads is with a cotton bud soaked in pink Master Cleaner (it comes in a can). You can also use a toothbrush dipped in it, but wire brush will also cause the jewelry to become powdery and you won’t be able to see the patterns that you’re creating or stain your fingers. Next, you’ll need to make your ring. As stated above, you want your beads to be wearable, not precious. These links will give you ideas for what kind of beads to use. You should be able to fit around 30–40 beads in your candle. Aside from choosing a distance between beads and ring, you may want to experiment with sewing or gluing the beads together. If you’re squirreling away in your jewelry drawer as little as I do, you’re probably bored of clicking pictures of plexiglass boxes and rings that look almost identical. To make your beads go in more easily, you can also use a special ring punch to punch them out. You’ll also need something to fill your candle with. 3. How to make a necklace-shaped jewelry candle If you're looking for a project to do with your daughter, or just for yourself, making a necklace-shaped candle is a fun project that can also be made in a variety of colors and styles. You can find all the materials you'll need at a craft store, and the project itself is pretty simple. You can use metal or plastic beads ornaments, ordinary household items, or jewelry. Beads can be purchased already made or otherwise perfected, and things can be salvaged that you may have discarded, like old locket pins, metal fish scales, ornaments from party stores, or even jewelry cut down to the right size or in the appropriate vintage settings.  The instructions for making your necklace candle are fairly flexible, and you can find extensive step-by-step instructions on the unrivaled candles website. The general steps are to cut the beads to size or to buy smaller versions of the beads you want.  You can make the candle factory scent or any of the pleasant scents like bay leaf or sandalwood. I opted for trying out a variety of real pieces of jewelry to scent. If you intend to just use a basic plastic beads jewelry box, you can find the instructions for making a jewelry box here. To start, lily of the valley scented candles are the way to go. Previously, I used beeswax candles with mixed results, so I was pleasantly surprised when I used a box of crystal jewelry beads. They are nice because they magnify the scent from your finger, creating an entire floral scent that goes well with the candles. You could also use real ball-peen hammers, moon balls, or stars as the candle-holder. 4. Making candles from other pieces of jewelry Ten years ago, I wanted to make a candle out of a ring from my jewelry collection. I thought it would be a fun project and a great way to re-purpose my old jewelry. I tried it and it worked. The result was a beautiful, personalized candle. I decided to make the same candle for my home to make it work better. I wanted it to last longer, look nicer, and smell like real jewelry. I didn’t want it to smell like replacement jewelry. I also didn’t want it to burn down like regular candles do, so I skipped the aluminum ring and went with sterling silver instead. To get started, I cut rings exactly the size and shape I wanted my candle to have! Then I decided on the design I wanted and the design I bought. I used hot glue to secure it to the metal ring. Before using the hot glue, I applied two coats of the wax of my choice. This includes Irish Moss, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel, and Loire Valley Rose. The wax flavor depends on the project or what you’re using it for. Now the fun part. If you have some jewelry already that you don’t need anymore, you can keep it or sell it. After all, you’re not trying to start a business here! I bought rings that repaired a hole I had in my finger. I also bought new earrings just because I thought they would fit better and look nicer in the candle. I sold my earrings after I made my jewelry candle. I used these rings as templates when cutting the rings for the wax candle. I taped them to the metal ring to keep track of where I was cutting. To attach the wax to the rings, I tried to be as accurate as I could. After applying the wax, I screwed in the metal bases to the rings and pressed the small screws into the top of the rings to secure. 5. Tips for making the best jewelry candles Making candles can be a fun and creative craft project. It’s also a great way to repurpose old jewelry you don’t wear anymore. Just melt down old necklaces and earrings, and then pour the molten metal into a mold to create a decorative candle you can burn and enjoy. The first thing you’ll need for making jewelry candle is jewelry. You can find jewelry melts easily online. you can search for a jewelry candle to see what is currently trending. There are tons of options, from traditional pieces like bandanas and medal charms to more modern pieces like earrings and bracelets. Once you have your metal, it’s time to find a gift idea for your loved one. There are so many ways you can show love for someone, from repairing an old broken engagement ring to simply buying them a beautifully-crafted jewelry candle that smells like their heart. What’s a way to give someone priceless as a surprise? While jewelry is an appropriate gift for many occasions, on Valentine’s Day, it’s especially sweet. You can use your existing jewelry collection to give the person a gift that will truly remind them of the special day. It will also make the person feel special. From necklaces to earrings, you can make dozens of look-alike gift items using jewelry melting wax. Fiddle with the sizing of the melted wax to get the perfect look and safety.
