@amog32 @cheerfulcallie Actually, cheetahs suffer a genetic bottleneck. Their population was devastated and not too long ago there were only a few females left. Although population numbers have improved, they still all suffer from the same types of diseases. This bottleneck may possibly become the end of the cheetah population in the future. As far as spot patterns, yes they are unique like a fingerprint! This picture is really very stunning, cheetahs have always been my favorite animal. Thanks for sharing!
@dillonk wow, I didn't know that?! Im glad to hear there has been improvements to the population and hopefully it will continue. I think overall extinction of any animals will be devastating and saddening.
beautiful...
@amog32 i too love the patterns on the back of this cheetah and how the contrasts are between the spots and the other parts! @dillonk @cheerfulcallie wow i didn't know all these interesting information about them! like I thought that maybe they might be a little bit different between each of them but wow.. spots are like fingerprints?!? and about the diseases I am so glad that it's slowly improving although nothing is set but i am hoping and praying that cheetahs won't go extinct i mean look at how beautiful they are!
@dillonk @cheerfulcallie wow, I had no idea such a problem existed in cheetahs thought I heard some other animal populations have faced similar problems in the past.
