Bulgogi (불고기)
Alongside the likes of kimchi and bibimbap, bulgogi is one of South Korea's representative dishes. A prime cut of beef (normally sirloin or rib-eye) is marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, garlic, onions and ginger before being thinly sliced and grilled. It is traditionally served with a spicy sauce although peanut sauce makes a great substitute. Although it is served with a spicy sauce, the dish itself isn't particularly spicy so makes a fantastic meal for those of who looking for something with a little less of a kick! Bulgogi can be served with rice or as an accompaniment to other popular dishes like japchae and bibimbap.
