If you're interested in baking bread at home but lack a bread machine, have no fear. With only a stand mixer, you can create beautiful loaves.

Form the dough into a ball and place in a clean bowl. Cover it with a damp tea towel or plastic wrap and set it aside in a warm place to double in size. Additionally, this can be done overnight in the refrigerator.

Having said that, a bread machine is inexpensive and simplifies the process significantly. Because I never recommend baking in a machine, a very basic model is sufficient. It is entirely worthwhile for kneading and rising alone. Additionally, they are frequently available at yard sales and thrift stores.
