That's exactly what I thought when my friends suggested it. During my year abroad in China last year, after finishing our end of year exams, my classmates suggested we should go on a trip before we all left to go back to our home countries. We decided on Qingdao. Why? Well, most of us had already been to the big cities and Qingdao was the one place that none of us had been to - so why not?! But wait...we suddenly realised that we didn't actually know anything about it... To give you a bit of context for the rest of the collection, here's a super quick introduction to Qingdao! Qingdao is located in the southern part of China's Shandong province which itself can be found on China's east coast. With over 800km of coastline, Qingdao also has the title of China's sailing city after it hosted the sailing events of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Regarded as one of the cleanest and prettiest Chinese cities it seemed the perfect spot for a bit of well-deserved R&R.
