Significant Impact of COVID-19 on Pulp and Paper in Chemicals & Materials Industry

COVID-19 Impact on Pulp and Paper in Chemicals and Materials Industry

INTRODUCTION

COVID-19 outbreaks have developed across the globe and it hampers the demand of various products around the globe on a wider range. Many countries like Italy, India, U.S. and China have instituted lockdown in their country to reduce the spread of the virus. The virus will first affect the consumer spending patterns, which will cascade across the entire economy. From a pulp and paper perspective, such a pandemic will widely affect the paper and pulp sector. Due to the pandemic the paper sales plunging, as the demand from packaging, education, corporates and the print media has come to a naught with over 80% of the economy is on a standstill.
China accounts one-third of the world’s pulp imports market share. Due to the lockdown in China and halting on the import and export from one country to another the entire paper and pulp market were effected as will have to look to domestic markets to mitigate oversupply issues. This was the major concern for various paper and pulp exporter countries such as the U.S., which was by far the largest exporter of paper and pulp products to China.
FIGURE 1 GLOBAL PULP MARKET CONSUMPTION SHARE
pandemic will reduce the demand of paper as it can boost the demand of towel and tissue worldwide. Health officials have stressed the importance of washing of hands to prevent the spreading of virus which could have the biggest impact for pulp and paper demand. The COVID-19 pandemics will widely affect the e-commerce industries and packaging industries which required a pulp and paper in bulk quantity. As the government imposed the restriction on travelling the consumer are preferring online grocery and other essential delivery services which required a wide range of paper products.
Demand for written and printing paper is hit by the closure of most educational institutions since the beginning of March and a gradual adoption of work from home. Demand for newspapers has also declined, with many readers avoiding newspapers and housing societies banning the entry of vendors as precautionary measures while some magazines have temporarily suspended editions.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON DEMAND OF E-COMMERCE PACKAGING

As lockdown imposed in many countries more than 70% of the industries have shuttered operations due to approval issues, lack of labour and raw material availability, logistics and demand disruption.
Plant closures, logistical disruptions to hit packaging demand in Q1 due to the suspension of operations for several industries, disruptions in production of essential commodities, inland transport and export shipments, the report says, adding the rising demand from e-commerce (for groceries) is not good enough to spike packaging demand at least in quarter of 2020 due to manpower shortage, supply chain issues. Online sale of non-essential items, which form a big chunk of the total demand, would remain completely halted until the lockdown is lifted.
The packaging accounts for more than 50% of the total paper demand, followed by WPP (writing and printing paper) at 30%. Due to the consumer of online purchasing through e-commerce sites the demand of paper can be increased. Long periods of work-at-home, may lead to accelerating penetration of e-commerce into traditional retail outlets. Food in particular shows substantial room for online growth, as people seek some alternative to the food they normally splurge on at restaurants.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON TISSUE AND TOWEL

Disposable hand towels should be the preferred method for hand drying in public/shared bathrooms as a 2018 study by the American Society for Microbiology found hot-air hand dryers can disperse bacteria from hands or deposit bacteria on surfaces, including recently washed hands.
The AFH tissue business will suffer drastically this year due to restriction in traveling, vacant hotels, restrictions on dining out, closed schools and people working from home instead of offices are all factors that will depress demand in the AFH tissue segment in 2020, especially during the first half of the year. The only potential bright spot for the segment is increased consumption by the medical care industry.
In the U.S., which is already the largest consumer of tissue products are stocking the toilet paper and tissue in their homes to maintain their home sanitary and the same trend is followed by many countries such as China, Japan, Italy, Germany and others.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON PAPER MASK

Due to the pandemic situation all over the world all the doctors and scientist are suggesting the adoption of paper masks as these pear masks protect the body from bacterial contamination. In April 2020, researchers published a paper showing that face-masks completely eliminate the emission of particles. Paper masks filtered viral particles during coughing at about 50-100% of the filtration efficiency of surgical masks.
Paper mask eliminates the bacterial contamination and other respiratory transmissible viruses for the community and healthcare workers and sick patients. Paper masks appeared to be more effective than hand hygiene alone, and both together were more protective. The pandemic situation is surging the demand of paper masks all over the world as nowadays every individual is wearing the masks before going out and even in their homes to reduce the bacterial effect.

COMPANIES INITIATIVES DURING COVID-19

COVID-19 crisis has already created enough distress among the countries globally. Pulp and paper manufacturers are adopting new technologies and creating the awareness among consumers regarding the advantage of paper consumption in this pandemic situation.
For instance,
· In June 2020, Metso Paper announces that they receive an order to supply a new fibre line to Century Pulp & Paper, a division of Century Textile and Industries Ltd.
· In May 2020, OTORIO, the provider of next-generation OT digital and cybersecurity risk management solutions, announced today a new initiative designed to raise awareness for better cyber-risk management in the pulp and paper industry and help industrial companies navigate through the rough, uncharted waters of the COVID-19 crisis.
· In March 2020, International Paper a manufacturer of renewable, fiber-based packaging, pulp and paper has donated thousands of corrugated boxes for feeding America and their network of food banks across the United States.
· In March 2020 International Paper, producer of renewable, fiber-based packaging, pulp and paper engaged in the partnership with A. Lava & Son Co. company to provide 5,000 paper boxes to transport the estimated 630,000 masks to healthcare workers.
The strategic decision of manufactures can help them to enhance their product portfolio during the COVID-19 crisis on a wider range. During the virus crisis, the consumers are stocking the tissues and other sanitary papers in their homes so various manufacturers in North America and Europe have been running at their capacity limits to fulfill the growing demand of the consumers.

CONCLUSION

Manufacturers are adopting new technologies and investing in different strategies to gain profit and turn down the situation into their favor. The COVID-19 crisis will affect the entire supply chain of the world paper and pulp market as due to the lockdown there will be a shortage of raw material supply and suspension of operations for several industries, disruptions in the production of essential commodities, inland transport and export shipments due to that manufacturers will not able to fulfill the growing demand of paper tissue and towels.
The logistical disruption can provide a breather, import threat continues with subdued pulp prices and the possibility of overseas manufactures pushing their inventory amid a weak global demand once normalcy returns. Due to the pandemic, the demand for tissue papers has raised in the wake of increased hygiene concerns. In India, the demand for tissue and paper towels market is growing with 6.6% in the first and second quarter.

How Impacted COVID-19 on U.S. Shale Gas in Chemical Industry ?
Impact of COVID-19 on U.S. Shale Gas in Chemical Industry INTRODUCTION Shale gas and shale oil are defined as natural gas & oil from shale formations. Shale is a type of sedimentary rock that is made up of very small clay particles and is highly porous in nature. It is formed in deep ocean water, lagoons, wetlands, and swamps where the water is still enough for extremely fine clay and silt particles to settle to the bottom. Since shale is a porous formation, it serves as both a source and a reservoir for unconventional hydrocarbons. The extraction of oil and gas from a shale formation involves mechanical stimulation. One such technique for stimulation is hydraulic fracturing or fracking. In the fracking process, cracks in and below the Earth's surface are opened and widened by injecting water, chemicals, and sand at high pressure. The combination of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracking has made it possible to access vast quantities of shale gas that were previously uneconomical to generate. Natural gas output from shale deposits has given the United States natural gas industry a new lease on life. The demand for safe access to energy sources is growing globally. Shale oil and gas have played an important role in meeting global energy demand during the energy revolution and are expected to continue to do so for decades as society transitions to lower-carbon energy sources. The rapid growth of shale oil and gas contributes to increased supply stability and lower commodity prices. According to the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA), in the year 2011, the country’s estimated available natural gas resources totaled 2,552 trillion cubic feet (Tcf). Natural gas from shale deposits, which was once considered to be uneconomical, accounted for 827 Tcf of this resource total. In the year 2020, U.S. dry shale gas production was about 26 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), and equal to about 78% of total U.S. dry natural gas production. IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON U.S. SHALE INDUSTRY Shale oil and gas exploration have, in particular, given the US oil and gas industry new dimensions of development. It has also fueled significant investment in associated infrastructure for gathering, storing, and delivering hydrocarbons to both domestic and foreign markets. In less than a decade, the US shale industry turned the global energy landscape upside down and re-established the US as the global energy leader. The onset of a global pandemic and subsequent drop in oil prices, on the other hand, has taken the momentum out of the shale boom. Due to a sudden drop in demand, the shale industry has immediately self-corrected. Many oil and gas players succumbed to the economic shock resulted from the CoVID-19 and filed for bankruptcy. Chesapeake Energy, a shale leader and once second-largest gas producer in the United States, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late June. According to the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA), the crude-oil output from seven major shale formations in the United states fell by around 56,000 barrels per day (BPD) in August 2020 to just under 7.5 million BPD, which would be the lowest level in two years. The shale industry is closely looped in with the oil and gas industry. The recent downfall of the oil and gas industry during the pandemic has had a severe impact on shale output. Post pandemic, the shale industry peaked, but the industry as a whole lost money. Since 2010, the US shale industry has produced USD 300 billion in net negative free cash flows, damaged more than USD 450 billion in invested capital, and seen more than 190 bankruptcies. With the advent of the coronavirus, the future for shale producers has become even bleaker, with a new bankruptcy filing occurring every week or so in the last few months. The pandemic's effects will be felt far beyond the US shale industry. Despite accounting for less than 10% of global oil and gas output, US shale oil extraction activity accounts for 40% of global shale oil extraction activity and accounts for nearly 100% of the growth in US midstream and export-oriented refining and petrochemical sectors over the last decade. STRATEGIC INITIATIVES DURING COVID-19 · Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) agreed on a continuation of March production levels for the month of April, with the exception of Russia and Kazakhstan, which will be authorized to increase production by 130,000 and 20,000 barrels per day, respectively, at their most recent meeting · Saudi Arabia has also agreed to extend its one-million-barrel-per-day voluntary cut for the month of April. · Companies such as Chevron, Shell, Schlumberger, and others have taken initiatives to safeguard their workforce in the ongoing pandemic situation. CONCLUSION On Conclusion, the pandemic has placed the shale industry in a delicate spot as major players are forced to cut down the output. The potential energy landscape in the United States and around the world is highly complex, and its drivers are interconnected. In the not-too-distant future, a wave of consolidation in the US shale industry could be triggered by the poor financial position of many firms and the weak economic outlook. The continuous demand for a ban on fracking, coupled with the effect of COVID, has cracked the shale industry severely. Although, the historic evidence indicates that the shale producers operate more economically. In comparison to 2019, producers in the Permian Basin are saving roughly 20% on good costs.
Impact of COVID-19 on Mini Cranes Market in Semiconductors & Electronics Industry
COVID-19 Impact on Mini Cranes Market in Semiconductors and Electronics Industry ANALYSIS ON IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON MINI CRANES MARKET The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the whole planet with its significant impacts on the economy and businesses across the globe. The COVID-19 spread worldwide in unprecedented ways due to its high infectious and contagious nature and lack of availability of its vaccine. As a result, the most significant medical challenge in the 21st century is yet to be faced by physicians worldwide. Though the emergence of the virus can be traced back to Asia, many European countries and the U.S. have been struck massively by the pandemic. The virus has spread across all regions ranging from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa up to South America. The COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO) due to its increased spread across the globe. After the declaration of the pandemic, various countries announced the complete lockdown, such as India, China and other Asian countries, to decrease its spread. The economies have been affected adversely as most of the trade and economic activities came to a halt. The unemployment rate has grown due to the impact and the global GDP fell by -3.5%. According to the situation report of 7th June 2021 by World Health Organization (WHO) stated 174 million cases of corona had been reported globally and 3.7 million patients are dead due to the coronavirus. On a slightly positive note, 157 million people have recovered and a total of 1.9 million vaccine doses have been administered as well. A crane is a machine used to lift and move heavy loads, machines, materials and goods for various purposes. They are used in all different industry sectors, from construction to manufacturing to shipbuilding and material loading. Cranes are common along skylines as they are necessary to build the skyscrapers we so often see in our cities. Mini cranes are relatively small cranes that can move through passages and can be used indoors. Some are also battery-powered and are remote-controlled. These are used indoors for lighter weights of around one tonne. The mini cranes can range from a straightforward lever pulley system to be mounted to a full-fledged machine with a motor and retractable boom for extended reach and mobility. Some mini-cane manufacturers are Hoeflon International B.V., Jekko s.r.l. and MAEDA SEISAKUSHO CO.,LTD. among others IMPACT ON DEMAND AND SUPPLY The mini crane companies have been affected severely as the demand for new cranes has gone down as the construction work has been halted in the pandemic due to the lockdown imposed by most countries. The companies also supply cranes on a rental basis which has seen a decline, but some crane rental services could secure essential services categories based on the clients. As seen from the graph below, the used cranes sold in 2020 saw a decline, but the decline was not steep as the cranes are used, which states that the demand for cranes rose in the last quarter of the year but due to the lack of availability of new cranes and cost cuttings companies turned to used cranes. This demand is driven by a lack of new crane availability and price increases due to higher raw material costs and supply chain delays. For instance, · In September 2020, Kate Lampson, director of PR and communications at Lampson International, stated that due to the type of customers they have and the industries that we service, Lampson International was deemed an essential business initially of the pandemic. Since then, they have been able to remain open and run the business as usual. In terms of upcoming projects, most current and future projects have stayed on schedule, with only a couple seeing delays. IMPACT ON PRICE With used crane sellers experiencing high demand, the supply can be an issue. At Bigge, they have also seen an increase in the price of used cranes. Kraaijeveld finds that there is currently an oversupply of used cranes in the Middle East, especially crawlers, due to delays and cancellations of oil and gas projects and a lower number of infrastructure projects. Prices dropped in June 2020 but rebounded in March 2021. The pricing of used equipment is up 7.8% and is predicted to climb past pre-pandemic levels, as stated by Ganzell. The internet has transformed the crane auctions market, with online sales growth for years. Ritchie Bros. said that before 2020, 70% of its global auction sales were already taking place online and only 30% were onsite in its auction theatres. But the pandemic has accelerated the transition. STRATEGIC INITIATIVES TAKEN BY MANUFACTURERS The COVID-19 has hit the infrastructure industry and halted all the work abruptly in which the rental and new crane demand saw a steep decline at the start of the pandemic. This meant that the rental cranes have to be returned and new purchases were halted. The rental cranes had to be replaced and set up again if and when the work resumed to reduce costs. The government provided support in the form of investment in infrastructure and some service providers also received the essential services category, so they were able to continue the work. For instance, · The mobile crane market in Australia and New Zealand performed well in 2020, despite the direct and indirect effects of the pandemic. In the case of Australia, the government has played a vital role in Sotiris Kanaris's reports. Apart from the effectiveness of its policies that allowed the economy to restart reasonably quickly, the Australian government's investments in infrastructure also had a positive effect on the crane market. Through the strategy, the government says that approximately USD 1.50 billion in new funding will be invested over the next four years to make Australian manufacturers more competitive, resilient and able to scale up to take on the world. · Abu Dhabi, UAE-headquartered NFT specializes in the sale and hire of tower cranes. In September 2020, Nagham Al Zahlawi, deputy general manager at NFT, said: "The COVID-19 has delayed a lot of projects, has put some significant tenders on hold and most importantly has delayed payments from clients. From April to May, 90% of our clients have either stopped paying or requested to re-negotiate rates agreed upon and signed before the pandemic hit or have asked us to remove the months where there was a lockdown. CONCLUSION The pandemic has taken a toll on every aspect of life, including the global economy. With the significant downfalls in many sectors, a collaborative effort of government, industry players and consumers can win the fight against COVID-19. The mini cranes market, majorly driven by the infrastructure projects, was impacted at the pandemic's start due to the lockdown imposed. Some rental crane service providers having the essential services category were able to survive the situation. As seen from the instance, various governments all over the globe are helping the market by investing in infrastructure. The demand for the mini cranes market is steadily rising as the projects are resumed and should stabilize soon.

10 Ways to Increase Your Sales by Tapping into the Sharing Economy
Many people are hesitant to use the sharing economy because they feel like it is too much work. This may be true if you try to start a business from scratch, but there are many ways to tap into this growing industry without starting your own company.  Here are ten strategies that will help increase your sales by tapping into the sharing economy! 1. Offer a free trial for customers to share your product with their friends. Most consumers don’t want to try a new product on their own, but if they can get it from a friend at no cost or risk, they will most likely be willing to give the product a go. You could offer your products for free for 30 days and include an option in your package that allows customers to add another one of their friends onto the subscription. This gives them an incentive not only to share with their friends but also decreases the chance that you won’t make any money because sometimes people forget about things when there is no deadline! 2. Build partnerships with other companies that offer sharing services. You can also increase your sales by tapping into the sharing economy if you build partnerships with companies that offer similar services. For example, Uber has an affiliate program where they partner with local businesses to create discounts for their customers who are using Uber to get around town. If a customer is taking an Uber ride and comes across one of these promotions, it may encourage them to try out other products or services provided through partnering companies like Amazon or iTunes, which will bring additional revenue! 3. Create an app that includes all of the features you offer. Some people may not want to pay for your product or service but might be willing to trade if they can use the app instead. This is a great way to make money off of free apps by including advertisements on them! You don’t have to build an entire website if you are trying to increase sales. Just create an app that has all of your features/products listed and includes ads throughout it. If someone finds one of your products interesting enough, they will most likely double-tap, which brings revenue directly into your pocket! 4. Provide free shipping. Another idea for increasing your sales is to offer free shipping. This may not be the best method if you are trying to compete with big-box stores, but it works well when offering a product that would normally have high shipping fees associated with it! People are willing to pay more money just so they don’t have to deal with additional expenses at checkout. If you can implement these strategies into your business, I guarantee you will experience increased profits due in part to tapping into the sharing economy without having any of the drawbacks which scare away most businesses! 5. Make your website easy to use. Another great way to increase sales without having high costs is by making your website/product very user-friendly! Websites that are difficult or confusing will scare away potential customers, but websites that make it simple for users can get lots of traffic quickly and begin generating revenue in a short amount of time. If you notice any areas on your site where customers may become confused, be sure to fix them immediately, so you don’t lose out on the chance of getting new visitors through word-of-mouth advertising! 6. Get your product in front of influencers. By tapping into the sharing economy, you can get more exposure for your brand by having it seen on social media or other websites! If an influencer uses a service that is similar to yours but may not be as well known, they could gain new customers, which will increase sales and bring revenue back into their company’s pockets! Influencers have a huge audience, so this tactic works best when paired with another strategy, such as offering free shipping because if enough people see the post, then some might click through even if they don’t buy anything at first just due to curiosity. This also helps companies tap into new markets without spending too much time researching them individually since many consumers follow popular trends/influencers on social media! 7. Don’t forget to advertise. Another great way to increase your sales is by advertising! This doesn’t always work depending on what industry you are in and how well known your brand is, but there are some industries, such as fashion, where this works very well because people will see the advertisement and think, “I need that!” It’s basically a shortcut for word of mouth since it can be difficult getting attention through other means when starting out in business. All you have to do is figure out which type of advertisements would best suit your company, then create them or hire someone else who knows what they’re doing, so customers pay more attention instead of scrolling past ads with ease. 8. Utilize social media. Utilizing social media is another effective way to increase sales which helps companies tap into the sharing economy without spending money on advertisements (although they may still pay for them if they choose). If your product or service gets enough exposure through influencers, it can be very easy to gain new customers simply due to word-of-mouth advertising! Just make sure that you are posting regularly and tagging/sharing other brands who might share similar interests with your target audience, so people see what you’re up to! This not only brings in more revenue but also builds relationships with like-minded individuals who could help provide future support as well, so there’s no downside at all when using this strategy correctly. 9. Raise your prices. One of the best ways to increase sales is by raising your prices! This works very well for companies who tap into the sharing economy because you can charge more money while still maintaining a competitive price point due to a lack of overhead costs like other businesses. The only drawback would be if customers decide not to buy at higher rates after all which could lead to an initial drop in revenue, but this should smooth out quickly once word gets around that they are charging more money than before, so people begin buying again and eventually it will balance out just fine! 10. Improve your product or service. Another great way to increase sales is by improving your product or service! If you notice that customers are leaving reviews for things they don’t like about the company, then take the time to figure out how it can be fixed, so people no longer have any complaints and start buying again. Once this happens, word will spread quickly throughout all social media platforms, which means more revenue within a short amount of time! Just remember to keep an eye on what changes need to be made in order for this tactic to work since there’s nothing worse than fixing one thing only to break another aspect of the performance/experience, making everything go downhill once more. Conclusion: There are many ways to increase sales, and each of these tactics can be used together or separately depending on the situation. Just remember that you should always test out different options first before committing because it’s not smart sinking a lot of money into something without knowing how it will turn out! Once you find what works best for your company, keep doing those things, so revenue continues increasing over time without any problems along the way. if you like this article check also this : 10 ways to increase your search engine ranking without using google In this blog post, we will discuss 10 ways to increase your search engine ranking without using google. How COVID-19 Impacted on Automated Cell Cultures in Healthcare Industry ?
COVID-19 Impact on Automated Cell Cultures in Healthcare Industry The economy and businesses across the world have been influenced greatly because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 has spread globally in unprecedented ways due to its high infectious and contagious nature and lack of vaccine. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic due to its increased spread across the globe. According to the situation report of 7th June 2021 by WHO, 174 million corona cases had been reported globally and 3.7 million patients died due to the coronavirus. On a slightly positive note, a total of 157 million people have recovered, and 1.9 million vaccine doses have been administered. Cell culture refers to removing cells from an animal or plant and their subsequent growth in a favorable artificial environment. Automated cell culture systems are instruments that mechanically carry out the steps involved in growing and maintaining a cell culture useful in any lab that works with cell biology, cell signaling, protein expression, or drug discovery. An automated cell culture system helps to grow cell cultures while saving labor time and reducing errors. Increasing demand for cell culture technology in vaccine production and wide acceptance of cell culture techniques in various applications accelerate the market growth. However, the high cost of automated cell culture systems and lack of skilled and certified professionals are expected to obstruct the market growth. COVID-19 pandemic created problems for many drug, clinical, medical equipment, and device manufacturing companies, including market players that provided automated cell culture products & services. Though, different kind of policies has been adopted by different companies across the globe for carrying forward the manufacturing processes. PRICE IMPACT COVID-19 claimed a considerable number of lives worldwide, which is a concern in countries with high patient co-payments and an appreciable number of families going into poverty when members become ill. Consequently, there is a need to review prices and availability of pharmaceutical products during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide future direction. The pandemic has impacted on utilization and prices of pertinent medicines and products but moderated by increased scrutiny. Key stakeholder groups can play a role in enhancing evidence-based approaches and reducing inappropriate purchasing in the future. For instance; • The Price of BACTEC FX-40 Automated Blood Culture System manufactured by BD is USD 10,608.08 • The price of Gibco HEPES, a reagent used in cell culture manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific, is USD 30.90 Product cost is the major setback for the market as it is expected to decrease the demand due to high costs. As the instruments and consumables related products such as cell counters, reagents, and buffers have high prices, the cost of automated cell cultures can impact the market. IMPACT ON DEMAND Today, most biotechnology products are primarily dependent on the mass culturing of cell lines. Cell cultures have found applications in diverse areas and serve as a model system for numerous research efforts. An increase in funding from the government for cell-based research is significantly triggering the growth of the market. In addition, cell culture techniques are widely used as an alternative to current egg-based strategies for developing cell-based vaccines. Thus, cell culture technology has been widely used in developing U.S. -licensed vaccines such as vaccines against rubella, smallpox, chickenpox, hepatitis, rotavirus, and polio. For instance, • Over the last month and a half, the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology has established stable cultures of COVID-19 causing coronavirus. The lab's ability to culture the virus enables CCMB to develop vaccines and test potential drugs to fight COVID-19. As observed, because of the current COVID-19 situation, the demand for automated cell culture services gradually increased due to the wide acceptance of cell culture techniques in various applications and growth in the biotechnology sector. This shows that various initiatives taken by organizations and market players are helping to tackle this COVID-19 situation as products are made available, and the situation is likely to get better in the future. IMPACT ON SUPPLY CHAIN Lockdown policies in different countries have resulted in the closing of product providers, decreasing walk-in customers to prevent the spread of the disease. This led to a significant delay in the supply of the product. Also, during the lockdown period, the market for online delivery of products has seen a rise, which is normal considering the situation. The companies dealing in the automated cell culture worldwide have taken strategic steps to supply products to people across the world properly. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic triggered unprecedented increased demand for some clinical devices, as well as significant disruptions to global medical and clinical device manufacturing and supply chain operations. The FDA is monitoring the medical and clinical product supply chain and working closely with manufacturers and other stakeholders to evaluate the risk of disruptions and prevent or reduce their impact on patients, health care providers, and the public's health at large. For instance, · On March 27th 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) was signed into law. The CARES Act added Section 506J to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act). It provided the FDA—for the first time—with new authority intended to help prevent or mitigate negative public health impacts of medical device supply chain disruptions “during, or in advance of, a public health emergency declared by the Secretary under section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act.” The FDA issued an immediately in effect guidance, Notifying CDRH of a Permanent Discontinuance or Interruption in Manufacturing of a Device Under Section 506J of the FD&C Act During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency: Guidance for Industry and Food and Drug Administration Staff. This guidance is intended to assist manufacturers in providing the FDA timely, informative notifications about changes in the production of certain medical devices that will help the Agency prevent or mitigate shortages of such devices during the COVID-19 public health emergency. · In April 2020, according to Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA), Vice-Chairman, T Sathish, the pharma sector in the country has been hit by a shortage of workforce, packaging materials, and transport the COVID-19 lockdown. This has led to a shortage of product packaging materials and has made matters worse for the pharmaceutical companies. He urged the government to permit the supporting industry to function to ensure that the supply chain was not disrupted. This shows that even if the COVID-19 situation disrupts the supply chain of products, the initiatives taken by the government and different companies create hope for the proper supply and use of products available. STRATEGIC DECISIONS FOR MANUFACTURERS COVID-19 might have hampered the supply and use of products, but it also allows companies to improve their business by different means. As a pharmaceutical company always does, it tends to find newer and better ways to treat a disease; the same is true with automated cell culture services and products. Always bringing out better solutions in the market will increase their business efficiency. For instance, · In 2020, in the U.S., the companies with direct exposure to COVID-19 outbreak were taking several actions, including transporting available inventory to areas away from quarantine zones and near ports where it can be accessed for shipping, buying ahead to procure inventory and raw material that are in short supply in impacted areas, activating pre-approved raw material substitutions in places where the primary supplier is impacted. However, a secondary supplier is not updating customers about delays and adjusting customer allocations to optimize profits on near-term revenue or to meet contractual terms and shaping demand by offering a discount on the available inventory in cases where supply may be short for late winter-early spring fulfillment optimizing near-term revenue. This signifies that despite this COVID-19 situation, the companies make different strategic decisions that will make their business grow at least back to pre-pandemic levels. CONCLUSION Pandemic has taken a toll on every aspect of life, including the global economy. With the significant downfalls in many sectors, a collaborative effort of government, industry players, and consumers can win the fight against COVID-19. The first wave had already inflicted severe blows to the population and economy. The currently experiencing the second wave and expected the third wave is likely to be more disastrous to the masses and healthcare markets. As this pandemic situation has resulted in many restrictions in different places around the world, the market players dealing in automated cell culture services and products were still able to manage their stock. Different companies were finding out their way to deal with this pandemic situation. The government and companies around the globe are working together and have issued advice for those who are undergoing treatment during these unprecedented times during COVID-19 lockdown around the world. The supply chain was destroyed, but several steps were taken by the government and companies, which will help them get their needed output for the products. By increasing the material price, the companies can maintain their overall revenue. Thus, different companies dealing in automated cell culture services and products are finding out their ways to deal with this pandemic situation.
How to Find the Right Commercial Cleaning for Your Business
An image is worth more than one thousand words. The image of your business in the locality has a tremendous impact on the number of customers you get. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to give your business the best possible image. What better start than getting it sparkling clean? Keeping a clean commercial building is vital in providing your business with a powerful image. While keeping your commercial building clean is a time-consuming activity, several options are available for busy business owners to continue their focus on business management. Since there are so many options, this article will help you choose the best team of commercial cleaning in Brisbane. What should you consider when selecting a commercial cleaning company? Selecting a commercial cleaning company to take care of the cleaning of your commercial building should by no means be underestimated. Most commercial cleaning companies work with lock-in contracts that protect them from you stopping their services, no matter how bad their quality can be! Therefore, make sure to search for the different options in your area and look at their ratings, reputation, quality of service, staff training, and responsiveness. In this article, you will learn how to analyse these aspects of the business and other primary factors to consider. 1) Thoroughness. A thorough cleaning is essential if you want to bring the image of your business to the next level. If a commercial cleaning company does the cleaning just on the surface or where the eyes can see, it might seem ok at first, but as soon as you move a piece of furniture or adjust an office, the lack of proper cleaning will be evident. Also, nowadays is more important than ever before to be thorough with the disinfection of surfaces to control the spread of bacteria or viruses. To review the thoroughness of a commercial cleaning company, it is worth paying a one-off cleaning at first. Then, even though the cost is higher when compared to a regular cleaning program, you can see the quality of their work with your own eyes. 2) Training. A professional team of commercial cleaning is not just a group of people full of cleaning products. Experience and training are essential for a cleaning team to provide thorough cleaning services. Experienced crews are well aware of the correct use of different cleaning products, their dose, and their correct application on surfaces. How can you tell if the team is trained to do commercial cleaning? If you can get a one-off cleaning from the company, keep a close eye on how they perform the job. Do they follow a checklist or a systematic way of cleaning? It doesn't mean that they will be carrying a paper checklist with them, but you will see them following the same patterns on every room of the building and using the same products and tools for the same materials. You will be able to see that their way of working is different from janitorial services that take care of everyday jobs only. A genuine service of commercial cleaning in Brisbane will easily stand out to you. For example, they will always clean before disinfecting, as stated on the Safe Work Australia site. 3) Flexibility. Don't let the cleaning of your commercial building control your schedule. It is essential to know that the company is reliable regarding their schedules and that they are flexible enough to adapt to your business needs. When contacting a commercial cleaning company, make sure to discuss your regular cleaning schedule in advance. You don't want to pay a one-off cleaning to realise later that the company's plan doesn't match your needs. 4) Check what is included. What you expect from commercial cleaning and what you might get can vary a lot. Therefore, it is crucial for you to share with the company what your expectations are and to inquire about what cleaning tasks they offer. For instance, do they include the washing of tea towels, emptying and cleaning trash bins, and cleaning appliances in their service? Commercial cleaning is not just cleaning windows, mopping, and vacuuming. A complete set of cleaning tasks is what you want to improve the image of your business. 5) Review the contract! As stated initially, many commercial cleaning businesses work based on lock-in contracts that you cannot get away from afterwards. It is highly recommended to stay away from these types of contracts that can make your commercial cleaning a constant nightmare. Instead, do your best to find the prices of a frequent cleaning service that allows you to stop anytime you want to adapt to your needs and expectations. Usually, a commercial cleaning company that has no lock-in contracts provide better quality on their cleaning services. That is the only means they have to keep their clients with their services. Time to search! It might take you some time to find the right commercial cleaning company for your business. Remember that you want a professional team that provides a high-quality service while keeping competitive prices, but above all, you want a company you can trust. Brisbane Clean from the A&R Commercial Cleaning group provides just that. No lock-in contracts, high quality in their work, and friendly service that you can trust. Impact of COVID-19 on Mini Cranes Market | Semiconductors & Electronics Industry ?
Impact of COVID-19 on Mini Cranes Market in Semiconductors and Electronics Industry ANALYSIS ON IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON MINI CRANES MARKET The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the whole planet with its significant impacts on the economy and businesses across the globe. Some mini-cane manufacturers are Hoeflon International B.V., Jekko s.r.l. and MAEDA SEISAKUSHO CO.,LTD. among others STRATEGIC INITIATIVES TAKEN BY MANUFACTURERS The COVID-19 has hit the infrastructure industry and halted all the work abruptly in which the rental and new crane demand saw a steep decline at the start of the pandemic. · IMPACT ON PRICE · With used crane sellers experiencing high demand, the supply can be an issue. IMPACT ON DEMAND AND SUPPLY The mini crane companies have been affected severely as the demand for new cranes has gone down as the construction work has been halted in the pandemic due to the lockdown imposed by most countries. Ritchie Bros. said that before 2020, 70% of its global auction sales were already taking place online and only 30% were onsite in its auction theatres. But the pandemic has accelerated the transition.
How COVID-19 Impacted on Wood Based Panel in Chemicals & Materials Industry ?
COVID-19 Impact on Wood Based Panel in Chemicals and Materials Industry The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the whole planet with its major impacts on the economy and businesses across the globe. The COVID-19 spread worldwide in unprecedented ways due to its high infectious and contagious nature and lack of availability of its vaccine. As a result, the greatest medical challenge in the 21st century is yet to be faced by physicians worldwide. Though the emergence of the virus can be traced back to Asia, many European countries along with the U.S. have been struck massively by the pandemic. The virus has spread across all regions ranging from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa up to South America. The COVID-19 has been declared as a pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO) due to its increased spread across the globe. After the declaration of the pandemic, various countries announced the complete lockdown such as India, China, and other Asian countries to decrease its spread. According to the situation report of 7th June 2021 by WHO stated 174 million cases of the corona have been reported globally and 3.7 million patients are dead due to the coronavirus. On a slightly positive note, a total of 157 million people have recovered and a total of 1.9 million vaccine doses have been administered as well. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, demand for wood-based panels from various end-users such as residential & commercial buildings, schools, malls, and hotels is impacted due to the lockdown imposed by various national governments globally. Due to lockdown restriction, all manufacturing activities are put on hold due to lack of labour & raw material supply, which limits the demand for wood-based panels in the market. For all the key segments of the forest sector (wood harvest, sawmills, wood-based panels, pulp and paper, and wooden furniture), the biggest impact from COVID-19 was the disruption of cross-border trade, which sharply dropped in the first three quarters of 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year. Aftermath of COVID-19 and Government Initiative to Boost the Market After the COVID-19 pandemic, the wood-based panel market is expected to gain momentum due to the increasing demand from various end-users. Government of an economy and their policies plays an important role in revamping the global economy back to its anterior state. Currently, many policies are being formulated by governments for creating employment along with the utilization of resources for bringing production and sales in the market back to their previous glory. During the pandemic, various nations’ governments took immediately drastic steps to curb the increase in contamination with COVID-19 by restricting travel, closing international borders. While the various government has eased restrictions to allow the manufacture and export/import of the various goods. For Instance · European commission has issued a decision that allows for import duty and VAT relief for goods to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. Relief from import duties and VAT for goods to combat the COVID-19 outbreak is issued in Europe as a government measure to boost the country’s economy However, the governments of various nations are also trying to revive the economy with strategic decisions such as revival package of initiatives to support the small, medium, and large industries, including guaranteed loans, the micro to medium-sized enterprises were provided government support for workers’ wages, to cover interest payments on loans and to provide operating capital. Other benefits include deferral of payments on corporate income tax for businesses, including the elimination of interest payments on outstanding loans for up to three months. Strategic Decision for Manufactures after COVID-19 to Gain Competitive Market Share Although the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the global economy, various manufactures are trying to take market share in the region with their various CSR programs. Various international organizations of wood-based panels are also holding a virtual conference to look at furniture & design trend movements, the performance of global wood-based panel markets, and an update on innovative technologies in the wood-based panels. For instance: · Wood-Based Panels International (WBPI) holds a half-day virtual event on May 11, 2021, to look at how the international wood-based panels industry has adapted to the current pandemic, with a special focus on furniture trends Impact on Price COVID-19 has complicated the situation by depressing the various industry sectors' growth across the globe. The economic downturn weakens the demand in local as well as global markets. Due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the price of the raw materials increased drastically which in turn increased the price of lumber panels. Other factors that put upward pressure on lumber prices are the increasing cost of manufacturing and transportation. Various stakeholders are involved in the production chain of procuring, harvesting, transporting, and processing logs into lumber. Labour shortages during COVID-19 caused an increase in labour cost which has transferred to the price of lumber. For instance: · According to Random Lengths, the price of framing lumber rose to USD 1,494 per thousand board feet (mbf) in May 2021, a 250% increase when compared to USD 427 per mbf a year ago. Meanwhile, the price of structural panels jumped to USD 1,657 per thousand square feet (msf) from USD 414 over the same period, a 300% increase Impact on Demand The nationwide lockdowns imposed by the government of different nations. Most of the people are stuck at home, working from the home beginning in March 2020 encouraged many people to perform home repairs or upgrades such as outdoor decks or new wooden furniture. The high demand for houses, lower interest rates, investments in rental real estate, have resulted in high demand for lumber and structural panels. For instance: · To support the economy during COVID-19, the U.S. Federal Reserve decreased the federal funds rate to zero in March 2020, which encouraged people to enter the housing market. Historically low-interest rates have contributed to high housing demand which, in turn, raises lumber prices Impact on Supply Chain Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 globally, supply chain partners have experienced their challenges and may not be able to fulfil orders on time during the pandemic. This is primarily due to the restrictions on the movement of transportations across different countries as well as within the countries. Most of the industries are lacking workforce availability for production whereas some industries are not able to get the orders due to less demand in the market from the end-users. So overall this pandemic has affected very badly on most of the industries across the globe. For Instance: · As per a survey conducted by the Institute for Supply Chain Management on the European supply chain, it is found that nearly 75% of companies reported supply chain disruptions due to the corona virus-related transportation restrictions. In this way, the lack of workforce and demand for products from end-users has disrupted the supply chain network of the industries. Conclusion Pandemic has taken a toll on every aspect of life, including the global economy. With the significant downfalls in many sectors, a collaborative effort of government, industry players, and consumers can win the fight against COVID-19. It continues to inflict the world with appalling economic and social dilemmas, capable enough to leave severe backlash on the economy for the next several years. The first wave had already inflicted severe blows to the population as well as the economy. The currently experiencing second wave is expected to be more disastrous not only to the masses but also to CnM markets. The first wave of the COVID-19 has affected most North American & European countries such as the U.S., Mexico, Germany, France, Spain, and the U.K., among others. This pandemic has led to a disturbance in the demand and supply of wood-based panels from the end-users. Currently, the second wave of the COVID-19 is going on and it has again disturbed the economic development in the region. However, now governments are trying to get more and more people vaccinated so that spread of the virus can be controlled and economic disruption can also be minimized as compared to the first wave of the COVID-19. Ongoing relaxation in lockdown across the various regions such as North America & Europe is expected to help in the revival of the global market.
