I was never much of an artist but this cafe is just too adorable to leave off. Korea, Seoul especially, is known for its abundance of cute cafés. I shall be introducing a number of such cafés over the coming cards but undoubtedly one of my favourites is MUSTOY café. After arriving, you'll be given outlines that you can plan your design on. When you're ready to move from paper to 3D, you can start drawing on your little figurine using the special pens. (If you're on a date, you'll probably get given a boy and a girl and be told to draw each other - don't feel obliged, draw whoever or whatever you want) MUSTOY Café is a fantastic place for reengaging with your inner child - I can't be the only one who misses the hours spent focused on colouring in pictures when I was a kid? A visit to the café is perfect for a rainy day when you don't want to wander outside or one of those days when you just want to be together (without much conversation). You can natter away for hours while you put the finishing touches on your dolls or you can sit in peaceful silence, simply enjoying each others company- sometimes conversation is overrated....!? While the café is normally pretty packed at weekends, if you have time in the week it makes for a much calmer, more relaxed kind of date. Costs Involved: If you're happy to leave your design on display in the café then your doll will set you back 10,000won. There are two options for those who want to take their designs home; 15,000won for a single doll or 30,000won for two dolls and a pen set. (Refreshments and pens are provided). (Refreshment choices: Orange Juice, Americano, Green Tea). Location: Sindorim D-Cube Centre Basement Level 2 662 Gyeongin-ro, Guro-gu, Seoul (서울특별시 구로구 경인로 662 (신도림디큐브시티 지하 2층)) Directions: Travel by underground to Sindorim Station (Line 1 and 2). Take Exit 1 and go straight into the D Cube Department Store. MUSTOY will be on the level 2 basement floor. Website: (KOREAN) Opening Hours: Monday - Thursday 11am - 9:30pm Weekends/Holidays 11am - 11pm For more information: +82 2 2211 0680
I wanna do this! Would it be weird if I went with a guy who's just a friend? Or is this primarily a date place?
this looks adorable - I'm definitely going to have to check it out next time I'm back in Korea!
@aeternitii I don't think it has to be a long as the guy knows that too!!
@funkystar25 you definitely should~ I know they've recently closed the Hongdae branch but I think the Sindorim branch is here to stay :)
