Hongdae Playground (홍대 노리터)
A famous scene in many K-dramas, the Hongdae playground is synonymous with live band performances and young couples. Located outside of Hongik University, the playground is very popular with university students who meet up and hang out in the park. Surrounded by restaurants, clubs and shops, the park makes for a great place to start or end an evening out. Every Saturday at 1pm from March to November, the park is home to the Hongdae Free Market, exhibiting hand-crafted wares made by local university students. From clothes and fashion accessories to traditional Korean needlework and CDs, there is something for everyone. (Sorry to disappoint - nothing is actually free but there are lots of beautiful and unique treasures to find!) Since most of the stalls are manned by the artists who made the items, feel free to chat with them and ask them more about their inspiration and how they make their products. Admission is free; how much you spend is up to you! Location: 19-3, Wausan-ro 21-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul Direction: Travel by underground to Hongik University Station (Line 2). Take Exit 9 and walk straight forward. Take the second left and walk up the hill. The park will be on the right at the top of the hill. Website: http://www.freemarket.or.kr (Website for the market) Operating Hours: The park is always open. The market takes place every Saturday at 1pm (March-November)

I've seen this in so many shows! The free market sounds like a lot of fun but I feel like its probably reaaally crowded.
