We previously learnt '你好' which means 'Hello' or more literally 'You good'. Of course, sometimes you want to ask if someone is good or not - you want to ask how they are. In order to do this, we must learn out first particle. Don't worry, unlike Japanese and Korean, Chinese only has a handful of particles and they're really easy to use. Today we learn '..吗' which is pronounced 'ma', note there is no tone on 'ma' so it is neutral. '吗' is used at the end of questions to indicate that the person is asking a question. For example, 'How are you?' is '你好吗？' Easy, isn't it?
