Himachal Diaries – On An Adventure To Kheerganga Trek
We were on our winter trip to Himachal, which was incomplete without the famous Kheerganga trek. We stayed overnight in a hotel in Kalga Village. The night was freezing but, the morning was refreshing, motivating us to leave for the trek as early as possible.   As the morning went away, so did the sun. The weather changed drastically and, we had some doubts about the success of the trek. Our Kheerganga trek in December had its limitations regarding the snow and coldness of the weather. The frigid morning delayed our trekking for a few hours.  It is a moderately challenging trek and the snow added to its difficulty. We were doubtful about the camping on top due to heavy snowfall almost every day. On the way, we witnessed the beauty of the forest while climbing the hill, the chirping birds as we paced steadily on the rocky track. Planning the Kheerganga trek in December had its perks, mainly the snow-covered Kheerganga and the fun of the hot water spring in the cold.   Our motivation to cover that 14 km trek was a bath at the highest point in the little pool with natural hot water. The silent valley was soothing our soul and, the majestic views of the snow-covered peaks rejuvenated us.  As we left Kalga village behind and moved further, the mobile network went dead. As the network left, the raw beauty of the mountain and vast forest joined us. We crossed the loud yet silently comforting waterfall on a wooden bridge and enjoyed the view of many more ahead.  While moving further, we had to tread carefully, as there was an icy pathway ahead. The tricky paths made us slip and trip a couple of times. The climb got steeper as we reached close to our destination. When we saw the camping site in the middle of mountains and, snow layered on the ground with tents set up for tourists, we felt relieved.   The Kheerganga trek was a learning experience where we met more tourists like us from around the world. Completing that difficult and tiring climb was an accomplishment. When we got on top (13000 feet), that place mesmerized us. It was a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains covered with snow and vegetation.   sWe went to see the holy temple of Lord Shiva that has been at the top for more than a hundred years. After walking at such a height, we took a bath in Hot water spring and relaxed. All our day’s weariness disappeared with that natural jacuzzi bath. While bathing, we could see the sunny golden mountain tops and trees of the Parvati Valley.  The hike to the top had been full of daring adventures but, the view was worth it. Our travel to Kasol ended with all the memories that we carried with us.
Places to Explore in Allahabad
Allahabad's influence on Indian religion, spiritualism, history, and politics cannot be overstated. To this day, both the holy Sangam and the Kumbh Mela are held here, according to Hinduism. Lord Brahma, the universe's creator, appointed it as the "lord of all pilgrimage locations." Akbar, one of India's most regal and powerful emperors, was given the name Ilahabad (Garden of Allah). Allahabad is a sparkling, multi-faceted jewel of Indian culture, full of old tombs, delightful people, fantastic restaurants, and exquisite parks, among other things. You can hire a taxi service in Allahabad for local transport or a ride outside of the city that is available 24 hours a day. Continue reading for a list of must-do activities and sights in this wonderful city. Triveni Sangam Triveni Sangam is a magnificent location that marks the confluence of three rivers: the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. Each river is revered in Hinduism. The three rivers, on the other hand, preserve their individual identities, which may be distinguished by their distinctive hues and qualities: 1- The water of the Ganges is crystal pure. 2- The colour of the Yamuna is bluish-green. 3- Underwater, the Saraswati is said to have a strong presence. A dip in the Triveni is supposed to wash one of all sins, and it is the holiest site in Allahabad's spiritual city. Tourists visiting Sangam can rent boats and travel out to the holy water to immerse themselves. Every twelve years, it hosts the Kumbh Mela (the world's largest Hindu pilgrimage) and the Ardh Mela (which occurs every six years). Allahabad Anand Bhawan In the city's heart sits Anand Bhavan, the ancestral house of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Indira Gandhi, the 'Iron Lady of India' and India's first female Prime Minister, lived in the Bhawan. Anand Bhavan has been transformed into an amazing museum where tourists may learn about the Nehru family, who was instrumental in India's independence and provided the country with three prime ministers. Guests can browse the museum's study's vast bookcases, which are brimming with volumes connected to Marx and Lenin, as well as look at memorabilia from the Nehru family. Another unusual feature is a special chamber dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, where he used to stay on his trips to Allahabad. Allahabad Fort This ancient fort was established by the great monarch Ashoka, but it was restored by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1583, and it became one of the Mughal Empire's most prized citadels. The defence is presently administered by the Indian Army, however one portion is open to the public as a popular tourist destination. This fort is made up of three magnificent galleries surrounded by tall towers. Saraswati Koop (said to be the source of the holy river Saraswati) is one of the fort's most prominent attractions; other notable attractions include the Patalpuri Temple and Akshaya Vat, a fig tree revered sacred in Hindu mythology and thought to be everlasting. The Ashoka Pillar, constructed during the Mauryan Empire in 232 B.C., is a must-see for architecture enthusiasts. Khusro Bagh One of Allahabad's most well-known tourist attractions is the exquisite Khusro Bagh, which is located near the city's train station. The grave of Prince Khusro, one of Emperor Jahangir's sons, is located in this park, which is historically noteworthy. Aside from the martyred prince's grave, the walled garden also houses the tombs of Khusrau's mother, Shah Begum (died 1604), a Rajput princess and Jahangir's first wife, and Khusrau's sister, Princess Sultan Nithar Begam (died c.1624). With complex stone carvings and motifs, the tombs are excellent specimens of Mughal art and architecture. All Saints Cathedral Allahabad's All Saints Cathedral, popularly known as 'Patthar Girija,' is a revered sacred site and one of the city's most important cathedrals. One of imperial India's most revered structures is the massive church construction, which spans around 1250 square metres. The magnificent craftsmanship and embellishments on the marble altar distinguish the entire cathedral, which was built in the Gothic style in the 19th century. With a few mouse clicks on the Internet, you can simply book a cab service in Allahabad for a local city tour or anywhere close. Alfred Park / Chandra Shekhar Azad Park The largest park in Allahabad is Alfred Park. In the park's centre, a large George V and Victoria statue commemorate the park's historical role as a site for formal ceremonies during British control. During the Indian Freedom Struggle, Alfred Park became immensely important: one of India's most prominent revolutionaries, Chandra Shekhar Azad, was encircled while attempting to flee here, and a notable encounter between British police and Indian revolutionaries occurred here. Azad chose to shoot himself rather than give up his cause after an hour-long gunfight. The park was renamed Chandra Shekhar Azad Park after independence, and an honorary bust statue of Azad now stands where he died. Admission costs should be considered. Ashoka's Pillar One of the city's most renowned attractions is this pillar, which is located just outside the Allahabad fort and was built by Akbar in the 16th century at the confluence of the rivers Ganges and Yamuna. However, a detailed analysis of the pillar reveals an Ashokan inscription dating from 232 BC written in Brahmi. Inscriptions on this pillar were later attributed to Samudragupta, the Gupta Empire's second emperor. His description is written in Gupta script, which dates from around 375 CE and is a later version of Brahmi writing. Booking cabs in India has never been easier thanks to Bharat Taxi, which offers inexpensive rates for both local and outstation excursions around the country.
3 Cosmetic Treatments that Celebrities Love
Hollywood stars look picture perfect on the Red Carpet. They work hard to achieve that uber-glam look by having a healthy diet and fitness routine. But every now and then, they do get a little help from their dermatologist to refresh their timeless look. Here are the top 3 treatments that celebrities indulge in... Botox Botox is used to achieve a tight and shiny forehead, lift-up eyebrows that droop with age and get rid of the creases that occur on the outer corner of your eyes when you smile. Almost every celebrity facing the camera gets Botox at some time in their life. When this treatment is done in the correct way, with low doses, the face looks ageless. But when the dose is too much or wrongly placed, then our celebrities end up looking more botched up than beautiful! Lip Fillers Celebrities have lip fillers for two reasons. The young ones may feel insecure about thin lips and want to plump up their pout. While the older ones lose lip volume as they age and also develop whistler's lines or smoker's lines. Lip fillers are like art, or sculpture. Your dermatologist is responsible for creating a beautiful shape that looks natural and complements your facial proportions. Badly done lips are called a 'trout pout' or 'duck-bill lips' and there's nothing appealing about them. Skin Tightening Everyone of us including celebrities use anti-aging creams. But that isn't the true reason behind their tight skin. Celebrities indulge in skin tightening treatment such as Thermage, Ultherapy and Fraxel once a year. These are usually done when they are on vacation, to hide the down time. These skin tightening treatments can reverse several years of skin aging with just a single treatment session. The result is a lifted, firm and rejuvenated skin. If you wish to glam up your look consider speaking to your dermatologist about these treatment options.

5 Ways to Make The Most of Your Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Laser hair removal is one of the most popular treatments all over the world. The combination of experienced practitioners and cutting-edge technology can provide you with the best hair removal results for the various treatment areas. Here's how you can make sure you get the best results. 1. Begin with a consultation. During the consultation, you will meet with a dermatologist who will review your medical history, discuss treatment goals, explain how the treatment works, discuss the type of results the client can expect, and determine if the client is a good candidate for treatment. Consultations typically last 20-30 minutes. 2. Plan ahead of time Your dermatologist will advise you to shave the treatment areas before your laser hair removal appointment. Prior to treatment, do not wax any of the treated areas. Hair is removed from the follicle by waxing. The hair follicles in the treated areas must be intact for laser hair removal to work. The pigment required by the laser for hair removal is found in the hair follicle. If the hair follicle is not present, the laser will burn the skin rather than remove hair. If your underarms are one of the areas to be treated, we recommend that you do not wear any deodorant. 3. Set realistic expectations  Although laser hair removal can permanently reduce body hair, there is no scientific evidence that it can permanently remove ALL body hair. There is no such thing as permanent hair removal. Clients should not expect to be completely hair-free after laser hair removal. This is why the FDA refers to laser hair removal results as "permanent hair reduction." We have, however, seen incredible results where the hair is almost completely gone. The majority of you will notice a significant reduction in body hair. Hair that grows back after each session is sparse, fine, and lighter in colour. Laser hair removal reduces the amount of shaving you'll need to do in the future while also reducing the amount and thickness of the hair that grows back. After completing a full series of laser hair removal treatments, you will typically require one or two maintenance sessions per year to maintain results. 4. The Importance of Timing When the skin is least exposed to the sun, the best time of year to get laser hair removal is in the winter. For the majority of our patients, this occurs in the fall. Many factors will influence the best time of year for treatment. First and foremost, consider the client's lifestyle. Does the client spend a lot of time outside with their skin exposed? Second, it will be determined by how tanned a client's skin is. The more dark the skin, the less energy the laser can use for a safe and effective treatment. With the laser's energy decreasing, more sessions will be required to achieve the desired results for a client. Another factor to consider is the body part being treated. Laser hair removal on the face typically requires one session every 6 weeks to achieve the desired results. This treatment series can be finished in the fall/winter season. Laser hair removal in the neck to tummy area typically requires one session every 8 to 10 weeks to achieve the desired results. Laser hair removal on areas below the tummy usually requires one session every 15 weeks to achieve the desired results. It may take more than a year to achieve the desired results with laser hair removal on the lower leg area. It is important to note that the further away the body area is from the face and heart, the longer the healing time and the hair growth cycle takes. This makes receiving laser hair removal treatments more difficult during the summer months. The skin should not be exposed to direct sunlight for the best laser hair removal results. This is why, unless they don't mind staying indoors and covered up, most clients don't get laser hair removal in the summer. 5. Book Your Appointments Ahead Of Time Depending on the area being treated and the stage of hair growth, it may take several laser hair removal sessions to weaken the hair follicle enough that it does not grow back. A dermatologist may recommend that you come in for treatment once every 8 to 15 weeks to achieve the desired results, depending on the area of the body being treated. It's a good idea to pre-book all of their laser hair removal sessions and get them on their calendar at the start of your treatment plan. This not only ensures that you get your preferred appointment times, but it also helps you stay on track with their treatments and reduces the likelihood of missing a session. If you go too long between treatments and miss a laser hair removal session, you risk falling out of the hair growth cycle and needing more sessions.
How to Get Rid of Dark Circles
While dark circles are not the sign of serious health issues, they can be considered as a sign that you’re not doing what’s healthy for the body. The appearance of the darkened skin around your eyes can look quite unappealing. Here’s what you can do about it… Why do we get dark circles? There are many reasons why we get dark circles. The problem is so common that we tend to ignore it or slather on some concealer and pretend it doesn't exist. Still, dark circles happen due to many poor lifestyle choices and this should be a wake-up call to take some action. The skin around the eye area is similar to the rest of our body, but much thinner. Hence, the effects of something that happens to your body will show up quicker on the eye area before it becomes apparent for the rest of the body. Some of the causes of dark circles include lack of sleep, lack of nutrition in diet, sun exposure, fluid retention, heredity, hyper-pigmentations, allergies, dermatitis, or even as simple as the natural aging process. And rest assured, getting rid of dark circles is certainly doable. How to get rid of dark circles effectively? 1. Getting enough sleep Make sure you get enough sleep daily. This is a good start to reducing the appearance of dark circles significantly. When you are sleep deprived, your body does not get enough time to make necessary repairs after a day’s activity. This takes a toll on the body. We can see this on our skin, starting from the thinnest skin surrounding the eye area. Depending on your age, you may need more or fewer sleep hours than others but it’s safe to say, getting shut-eye for seven or eight hours is a good start. 2. Purge out water retention In some cases when your body retains fluids more than it needs, usually due to diets high in salts, your eyes look darkened and puffy. Applying cold compression to the eyes or sleeping with extra pillows will elevate the area and prevents extra fluids from pooling unnecessarily. 3. Moisturize We that dry, parched skin looks dull and unhealthy. The same thing applies to the skin surrounding the eye area. Plus it is more prominent here since the skin is thinner. Give your under eye area some TLC with intense moisturizing cream for nourishment. As mentioned, since the skin at the eye area is thinner, you should get eye cream instead of using a facial moisturizer. Eye creams are formulated for quicker absorption. Plus, most eye creams also come with ingredients that are specific to undo the appearance of dark circles such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins C, vitamin E and caffeine. 4. Skin-lightening cream If you have a serious case of dark circles and want to remedy the issue quickly, consider skin-lightening creams that work on pigmentation in the eye area. Notable ingredients to look for including kojic acid, glycolic acid, vitamin c, and glutathione to name a few. 5. Medical treatments for dark circles In the case when you want to go the medical route or perhaps your dermatologist recommends it, there are treatments used to lighten dark circles. Treatments such as chemical peels (with customized acids and concentration according to your condition), laser therapy, and dermal fillers that work wonders as they work to counter the factors that are causing you dark circles in the first place. A surgical procedure known as blepharoplasty can also be done if you need it. The procedure works by removing a layer of fat at the eye area to decrease puffiness and shadow cast in the under eye, which in turn reduces the appearance of dark circles. Multiple solutions and remedies are available to treat dark circles. And since there’s no one-size-fits-all, it’s best for you to get advice from your doctor to guide you on the best way to eliminate dark circles, for good.
