Sangria is one of my favorite alcoholic beverages -- it's sweet, but not so sweet. It's tasty, but it's not overwhelming. Made with anything your sweet heart desires, from apples to peach! 1) Sangria is usually made with red wine, fruit juices, fruit, soda water (and sometimes brandy). 2) In the south of Spain, sangria is often called zurra. And this sangria is made with peach or nectarine. Yummm! 3) Sangria made its debut in the U.S. in 1964 for the World's Fair in New York. 4) Cinnamon and brandy are classic ingredients for sangria in Portugal (sounds perfect for the chilly weather!) 5) The word 'sangria' came from 'sangre,' which is Spanish for blood. This is in reference to its red color.

Denver-based Apollo Peak has become the country's very first purveyor of wine for cats. This alcohol-free 'wine' comes in white (Mos-Cat-O) and red (Pinot Meow) and closely mimics the scent, color, and flavor of actual wine. It's organic, all-natural, and 100% safe for cat, dog, AND human consumption. The wine is made by brewing a special tea blend made from beetroot and a blend of other pet-safe herbs - including catnip, which according to the company's official website, might affect your cat quite differently than you'd think: "When cats smell catnip, they tend to get funny, move around, and play a lot. The exact opposite occurs when they ingest catnip. They normally will become more 'mellowed' out when they drink the wine so it might actually help for those restless nights." As of right now, the wine is available online in 8-'meownce' bottles for $11.59 or as a 1.6-'meownce' single tasting for $4.95 - a worthy new addition to your and Fluffy's Friday night Netflix marathons. Korean 101: Crazy Soju Flavors
I'm not really into alcohol... It makes me REALLY sleepy really fast so if I'm out having fun with my friends its better if I just have fun without any drinks in my system. That being said, I HAVE had soju and I can tell you...the flavor matters a LOT. 소주 = soju This is your normal soju. It tastes like straight alcohol, like you know it can't be good for you. It burns a little on the way down, but in some strange way you get used to it? This is yogurt soju. This was the first flavored soju I was told I HAD to try. My friends all said it was really sweet and actually yummy compared to normal soju. I still haven't tried it though! It's actually soju + yogurt + sprite + lemon! This is the BEST soju...grapefruit. This seriously just tastes like grapefruit juice which I LOVE. It's totally artificial and sugary but you don't drink soju for the health value lol. 자몽소주 (ja-mong so-ju, grapefruit soju) Here are some others! Strangely enough...in Korea, "cute" and "sexy" girls are used to advertise alcohol instead of masculine men like in the States. Have any of you tried soju? What did you think?
Festive Drink To Chug At Any St. Paddy's Parade
St. Paddys day is my favorite holiday of the year. I always wear a green tutu, drink aggressively and challenge any person in a kilt to an irish dance competition. So obviously to keep me in the spirit my drinks have to be just as festive! Introducing skittle vodka!! Its so bright, so tasty, and seriously does some damage. Instructions: 1. Separate the skittles by color. Use 1 lb bag! 2. Take two 1.75 liter bottles of vodka and add the skittles in each bottle! 3. Add vodka and shake up! 4. Let sit for a day and then strain the left over skittle particles. I used a coffee filter! 5. Shake up and DRINK! I like it straight up, but mixing with sprite tastes awesome AND keeps the color looking perfect for St. Paddys Day!
Cool Off with White Peach Sangria Popsicles
And then get buzzy. It's starting to get warmer now, unless you live in a place where it's like snowing all year- then I am sorry. But hey, the sangria works to also warm you up. Because you know...alcohol. I founds this cool recipe from Annie's Eats. What you'll Need 3 peaches, divided ¾-1 cup fresh raspberries 1 tbsp. granulated sugar 1 cup plus 1 tbsp. white wine, divided 3 tbsp. peach schnapps How To Make It: 1) Pit and thinly slice 1 peach. Add to a bowl with the raspberries, sugar, and 1 tablespoon of white wine. Stir together gently (avoid smashing the berries or bruising the fruit.) Let stand for about 20 minutes. 2) Peel, pit, and coarsely chop the remaining 2 peaches. Combine in a blender or food processor with the remaining 1 cup of white wine and the peach schnapps. Puree until smooth. 3) Pour the peach puree mixture into a Popsicle molds, filling each about 2/3 of way full. Add a few peach slices and raspberries to each mold. Insert popsicle sticks and freeze until fully set, at least a few hours. Unmold and enjoy.
Weed-Infused Vodka Is A Thing Now.
So we've got weed in your brownies, weed in your ice cream (believe me, I just Googled it), and now it seems that weed has gone into completely new territory - your liquor cabinet. Yes, thanks to Humboldt Distillery, weed-infused vodka is here, making the world a Grateful Dead concert one Bloody Mary at a time. Okay, so SPOILER ALERT: It's only 0.3% THC, which means drinking this vodka will probably not get you high. Well, unless you drink a few bottles, but by then you'll be too busy puking you probably wouldn't even notice. However, it will get you drunk, and Humboldt Distillery claims the small amount of THC will actually help you prevent that hangover. (Or at least lessen it a whole bunch.) The company also adds that the vodka tastes great as a substitute for regular vodka or gin in a number of different cocktails. But considering that it tastes like weed, chances are it probably makes everything taste disgusting. (Not that I'd know what weed tastes like. I've just heard stories.)
