How to improve the concentration skills of my child

Kids love to play; they try their best to avoid things that don’t interest them. Therefore they make excuses to avoid other works and do not give their best to them. Sometimes due to their mischievous nature, they don’t focus on the given work, but sometimes the reason behind it is more complex and dire. Kids need to possess good concentration skills to complete a task successfully.

However, a lack of concentration skills makes them confuse easily, and they can’t stick to one task for an extended period and quite easily get distracted with other things. Having less focus ability might also affect their future because from studies to career to social life, everything depends on how attentive a person is. After learning that, you must surely want to know how to improve concentration in kids, but before that, you must have a better idea of the general signs of an unfocused kid.

. They easily get distracted
. All-time daydreamer
. Are not able to keep things scheduled
. Show lesser interest in things
. Find hard to learn something deeply.

Various senior personalities have deemed concentration skills vital for their healthy development and termed them as necessary for a better learning process.
The first essential for the child’s development is concentration. The child who concentrates is immensely happy-Dr. Maria Montessori.

Now, it’s a common dilemma for a parent, as to how they can expect good development of their kid when even he/she is not able to give proper attention to essential things. However, the first question in parents’ minds will be how to improve kids’ concentration, and here you will find some easy to adopt methods. These child concentration exercises are more like the habits that one needs to take on in their daily lives, specially fabricated keeping kids’ interests and capabilities.
Games & exercises for kids to improve their concentration skills.

It is a well-known fact that if you want your child to get into some habit, then you need to do it in a fun-oriented and gripping way. Premium psychologists and child specialists have joined their hands to create some child concentration exercises and games combined in one to improve concentration. Like the other body muscles, brain muscles also need a workout; it strengthens them and improves their ability and capability. Here we’re mentioning some brain exercise by Vidhyashram International School , the best CBSE school in Jodhpur .

Given below are some Brain exercises & games :

Sequencing Games
These games involve activities related to arranging and sequencing objects, like following a list of steps, putting the things in order. It provides the required work out for the brain muscles and improves the concentration level. They also improve the memorizing capability of a kid in a playful way. With the time limit factor, the mind responds faster and provides them with a much-needed dose of child concentration exercises.

Memory Games
Spot the difference- A game in which one has to find minor differences between two almost similar pictures. Also, the flashing pictures game where you have to match a picture to a previously seen one is a stellar game to boost concentration skills. These are uncomplicated fun games but are very crucial for increasing concentration skills. When a child repeatedly tries to memorize a number, picture, or figure, his cognitive and attention capabilities improve.

Puzzle & Maze Games
These games provide pretty good exercise to the brain muscles; they help improve the concentration, planning, and memorizing power of the mind. A puzzle and maze challenge the mind to reason, to find patterns; it also improves the processing speed of the brain. Also, some maze games involve physical activity, which improves the motor skills of a kid; it also improves mind-body coordination. The variety available with these games will offer you with a complete bunch of child concentration exercises.

Command Based Games
These are the best gates to improve the concentration of a kid on a particular thing; for several game-like “Statue” or just “Sit” makes a child more patient and focused. As a significant after-effect of lack of concentration in kids, they get distracted very soon and cannot concentrate on work for a long time. This game improves their tolerance power; they get trained not to get distracted easily and stick to a set of commands or work for a long duration. Repeated days with this game or exercise increases the bonding between the mind and body, along with the significant improvement in concentration skills.

Meditation & Breathing
These child concentration exercises are good for the mind and body. Kids need to focus on their breathing rhythm and patterns; it relaxes their mind, just like the outer body needs a rest after the hard work. Meditation is a popular exercise to relax the mind; it improves focus and frees the mind from other distractions. Getting the kids to do meditation and breathing exercises from a younger age develops their focusing power much faster. Also, they get aligned to set their priorities slowly, under the guidance of elders.

Sports & Recreational Activities
The mind not only needs academic and calculative methods to improve its abilities, overhauling with the help of sports and other recreational activities improves the focusing & attention power of the mind. Not only do they relax the mind but also better the mind-body coordination; motor skills get improved when a kid is involved in any physical activity. With uplifted social and behavior skills, along with the grown happiness quotient of your child, you are going to recommend games for improving concentration.

Many other exercises and games have found their way into the recommended schedule for kids. It is best to follow these child concentration exercises at as early age as possible because a child’s mind is like raw clay, and if we start molding it for good at the primary age, it is helpful for kids and parents both.
Along with the exercise and games for improving concentration, we the Vidhyashram International School , the https://vidhyashram.edu.in/
suggest some following some ground changes in lifestyle, which affect the kid for good.

1. Prepare A Daily Routine For Kids’
Children don’t possess much flexible work skills as adults; they mix up things until and unless they don’t get a proper schedule. Therefore, you should finalize the timings for everything like for studying, playing, having food, watching TV, etc. It will help kids in having more arranged and less distraction during daily schedules, which will improve their concentration skills significantly.

2.  Short Breaks And Power Naps To Improve Concentration Skills
When we do a physical workout, we take short gaps between exercises for regaining energy. Similarly, the mind also needs refreshing breaks in between mind exercise, studies, etc. for refocusing. Power naps are said to be quite helpful to relax the mind; in fact, some studies propose 20 minutes of power naps in school time.

3. Break Large Tasks Into Smaller Ones & Propose Short Time Goals
Kids learn to focus for a long time after time and repeated efforts, so it is advisable to feed them with smaller tasks instead of larger ones so that they do not lose concentration. As time passes, they learn to handle large ones themselves.

I totally understand. Most of the time, it feels like my son has an endless source of energy, and I have no idea why he's so hyperactive. Some parents say that it's pretty common among children to be like that, so I hope that's true. The hardest thing was to keep him entertained because once he got distracted, there was always a high chance of something breaking or him getting hurt. That's why I decided to buy this playground https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/seije/snake-ladder-climbing-playground-for-kids-1-7-yo?ref=d77866&utm_source=goodevas_gl&utm_medium=post for him. Also, he doesn't have problems going to sleep anymore since he gets tired enough.
Oh, thank you for the article! I hope these tips can help me because I can't handle the energy my son has. Sometimes I think it's impossible to make him stay in one place and focus on one task, but he listens to me from time to time.

10 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started College
1. You may not find your BFFs right away. Making friends is hard. Like, really hard. And figuring out who your "life-long best friends" are going to be is so unrealistic because you barely know who you are let alone what kind of friends you're looking for. There's no such thing as cliques anymore, you can be friends with anyone and everyone which gives you the liberty to meet new kinds of people. You'll be amazed which people strike your interest and what living next door to someone can create. College friends can become family so quickly. However, I didn't find my BFFs until my sophomore year and looking back, I'm happy for it. Because now I feel that I fit in and the wait was just what I needed. I wouldn't trade them for the world. 2. You'll gain most of your weight because of alcohol. Of course you're going to drunkenly eat a million extra slices of pizza and gorge on unlimited food in the dining hall. You're going to skip the gym because it's too far of a walk even though you walk all over campus. You'll blame your weight gain on Netflix yet you will completely ignore the gallons of alcohol you will chug on the weekends. You don't really know why you're so obsessed with Natty because it's the equivalent of piss water yet you still drink it leading to more weight gain. As soon as you realize that there are calories in alcohol, you'll learn to stay away. 3. It's easy to fall in love with your friends. Friendships often times lead to hookups or relationships. Why? Because you start to realize that your best friend is also someone you desire. They kind of go hand in hand. Sometimes you're going to meet someone and not know how to explain how you went from shaking their hand in your dorm a year ago to waking up in their dorm one or two times a week. There's going to be plenty of platonic love and friendships that you're going to form but there will also be a friend of yours that you're going to fall in love with. Even if it only goes as far as a crush. And then in 20 years you're going to be laughing on the couch telling your kids why mom wouldn't give you the time of the day in the beginning because you were too much of a frat guy. 4. Once you skip class once, you'll likely do it again. I PROMISE. DON'T DO IT. 5. It's okay to move on from high school and leave your high school friends behind. High School is a leash and I personally believe that 99% of the friends that you had there are people you should leave behind. I only stay in contact with about 5 friends from high school which I think is a lot. I know people in college who are constantly obsessing over their high school memories and friends and to be honest, no one wants to hear about it. High School friends only know you from child hood and I think they prevent you from being independent to a degree. I love the remaining few from my past who have remained true and faithful friends all these years but we're all over the country doing our own thing and we're all still very close because we can come home on a break and pick back up where we left off. I don't have to talk to them everyday. I know there's some of you out there saying I'm totally wrong and your BFF was from high school all through college and I applaud you. But I would have never arrived to where I am now had I discarded my high school persona and friends, and trust me, I LOVED LOVED LOVED high school. 6. You will have a break down and sob to your mom on the phone. IT'S OKAY. There was a big oak tree right outside of my dorm that I would always walk over to when I was having a break down. It had the perfect metal table underneath and it was secluded from the campus lawn. I remember many, many phone calls being dialed to my mother begging her to come rescue me. I had a really bad freshman year because I was incredibly homesick, I didn't feel like I fit in, and I was unhappy with life in general. So I would sit crying to my mom how badly I wanted to transfer. Today, I am so happy I had that space because it was a comforting spot when there was only stress. And just to let you know, I ended up staying at my university and I miss it constantly. 7. Grades aren't everything. NO ONE CARES YOU HAVE STRAIGHT A'S. C'S GET DEGREES. MAYBE NOT YOUR FAVORITE INTERNSHIP. MAYBE NOT A SCHOLARSHIP. BUT THEY GET YOU THROUGH COLLEGE AND A GPA IS NOT REQUIRED IN A JOB INTERVIEW. But yes, I have above a 3.0 (otherwise my mom would kill me). 8. You can be whoever you want to be. Want to dye your hair a crazy color? Do it. Interested in expressing your love for anime? There's a club for that. Picking up a new sport? You have a 24hr free gym membership. Are you gay? Go kiss some boys. Trying for a preppy or grunge look? Switch it up. Is your dream to be in a sorority? Defy the stereotypes. You can be whoever the hell you want to be and no one is going to tell you otherwise. Pick up a new language. If you want to be a stoner who loves alcohol and cheetos, COOL. There really is no one in between you and the person you dream of being. And if you really just want to be a cat lady who just so happens to have a pet parrot, please be my guest. 9. Studying is necessary. You will fail if you do not study. I repeat, you will fail if you do not study. 10. Books for class are optional. Please check to see if the book for your plant biology class is optional. Odds are that even if it's required, you'll never open the thing once. It'll be a complete waste of money and you'll sell it back for $4 at the end of the semester. Most of the time you can get by without paying for a book but they are insanely expensive for no reason. After freshman year, I started to refrain myself from buying books because it was a cost that was unnecessary. And if you insist on buying that overpriced book, I'm sure you can find a used one for way cheaper online. Good luck.
College Does Not Make You Invincible To Alcohol Related Deaths
Alcohol. It's everywhere. When you're handed a beer in college, standing at a keg stand, or watching your friends pass around a bottle of vodka, you feel like you're in a movie. This is because American culture has associated the best years of your life with the most dangerous methods of having 'fun'. Underage accessibility to alcohol is extremely easy and the amount of college students sitting in class with a fake ID is higher than students without. The problem though is that everyone wants to get "hammered", "plastered", "sh*t faced", "boozed", "intoxicated", "trashed", and the list goes on and on. "BAC- Blood Alcohol Content" The problem with this mentality is that many college students, especially incoming freshman, or "veteran" seniors think they can drink into oblivion completely disregarding any safety measures. Over time, people build a tolerance to alcohol making it more difficult for a person to have the same amount of impairing effects from alcohol with the same amount of alcohol. This causes people to drink more because you're aiming for the same effects of alcohol. The problem is your alcohol tolerance does not change your BAC, you're still receiving the same amount of alcohol which can lead to very harmful situations where your body will shut down and you die. You are also more prone to accidentally die from puking in your sleep due to suffocation. Sexual assault is extremely common following heavy alcohol consumption. Know the facts. Each year 1,825 college students die from alcohol related deaths between ages 18-24. Next time you drink, know what it can do to your body. You don't want to be another kid in a headline where an entire community mourns over someone who died too young due to poor education of alcohol. Pace yourself. Drink water. Be prepared for a disastrous morning hangover. Don't overdo it. You must always be cautious. Most importantly, you CAN have fun without alcohol. Blood Alcohol Content Chart Effects
After School is One of The Hardest Working Groups Out There
I was revisiting some older Kpop tracks and came across the magic that is After School. And it struck me just how hard these girls work for each comeback. Check it out below! Their first three songs were instant hits and blasted them to stardom. 1. Ah! 2. Diva 3. Because of You** ** You hear remixes and covers of this song on Korean TV all the time. Before their debut, Pledis said that their concepts would be heavily influenced by the Pussycat Dolls. The Pussycat Dolls must have loved their style because when they had their Asian leg of their world tour, they had After School open for them! They were already known for their amazing performance skills (((did you see the choreography in the When I Grow Up performance?!?!?!??))) They then began to commit heavily to concepts, starting with BANG. The girls learned how to play the drums to fit into the marching band concept of Bang! And they basically killed it. The next few years were spent making Orange Caramel a HUGE success and becoming mega-famous in Japan. Then they came back with Flashback which is still such an iconic Kpop song today. Every Korean probably could sing this chorus :) Like with Bang! the girls decided to commit to an entirely new concept: They all learned how to pole dance. Nana even showed off the ridiculous bruises she got from training for 6 months. Various members have "graduated" or been added, including Kahi who went solo after her long stint with After School. (She actually founded the group^^) I hope that these girls get the attention they deserve! I love how much they put into their work :)

Could you pass a drug test today?
Be honest. Everyone knows of a friend who smokes a little bit of weed, indulged in a lot of alcohol over the weekend, and made a questionable decision to try cocaine. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm being realistic. Drugs are very integrated into society regardless if it's legal or not. Though I personally do not condone the use of these drugs, it's really none of my business if my friends decide to indulge in them. However, if you're applying for a job, playing a college sport, getting a drug test done at a hospital, etc. You might want to be cautious of your choices on your night on the town before you lose that job, scholarship, or promotion. Drugs are fun for many people but they come at a high risk. (Reporter Kyle Jaegar from Business Insider posted the article "How Long Various Drugs Stay In Your System" and broke down the statistics. I have listed them below.) All I'm saying is, one night of fun lasts longer than you think. ALCOHOL Example: Beer, Liquor, Wine Urine: Three to five days Blood: 10 to 12 hours Hair: Up to 90 days AMPHETAMINES Example: Adderall Urine: One to three days Blood: About 12 hours Hair: Up to 90 days BARBITURATES Example: Mebaral, Nembutal Urine: Two to four days Blood: One to two days Hair: Up to 90 days CANNABIS Example: Weed, Dabs Urine: Seven to 30 days Blood: About two weeks Hair: Up to 90 days COCAINE Example: Cocaine Urine: Three to four days Blood: One to two days Hair: Up to 90 days HEROIN Example: Heroin Urine: Three to four days Blood: Up to 12 hours Hair: Up to 90 days LSD Example: LSD Urine: One to three days Blood: Two to three hours Hair: Up to three days MDMA Example: Ecstacy, Molly Urine: Three to four days Blood: One to two days Hair: Up to 90 days METHAMPHETAMINE Example: Crystal Meth Urine: Three to six days Blood: 24 to 36 hours Hair: Up to 90 days MORPHINE Example: Morphine Urine: Two to three days Blood: Six to eight hours Hair: Up to 90 days
Why my old Art teacher should just quit her job.
Ok kids gather round. I got a little story to tell you now that I'm out of High school and on my way to college. This story is about the horrible pain in my side that was my Art class, more specifically my Art teacher, and how I lived through 2 years of torture. How useless can a class get? My teacher wanted us to go around this skeletal frame and take a picture of how we want to draw the skeleton, right? Wrong. After all the effort I went to take a picture, she just told us to delete the photo and shut up. We were just supposed to draw the skeleton like how we saw it from our seat and God forbid if you moved your chair... there'd be hell to pay. Instead of just deleting the photo, I had to do something with it. I get creative with my salt. When the teacher blames a student for a mistake the teacher makes, you know you're in a wonderful class. This chalk project was probably one of the few projects I ever enjoyed. For one, I was already salty about how my teacher always refered to all the characters I drew as "she" even though I made mostly boys. Therefore I decided to draw a boy who loves wearing dresses and kicking ass. Anyways, we had to paint a Picasso dog afterwards, based off of our chalk drawing. Wait, what? I was supposed to draw a dog, but she didn't tell anyone else, and she was infuriated with me in particular despite the fact that only 1% of the class drew a dog. I knew I had to make the dog in such a way that she wouldn't like it but had to say that she did. Thus, the Space Doge that messes with your head no matter how you turn it. The sound of her voice quivering in anger talking about how much she loved my Doge was enough to satisfy my personal vendetta. An assignment that I completed to the t and she ended up hating it. I was supposed to combine something organic and a machine, and while sketching it she said she loved it. However when I was using the sharpie for contrast, she flipped out even though I explained to her that I would. Then she only talked about how disappointed she was with my work. Ahahahahahaha This has got to be one of the things that pissed me off the most. The school had this project going on in most clases on how to unify classes that would be considered opposites, in this case chemistry and art. For one, I was in a class full of sophomores who haven't gotten the chance to take Chemistry. Second, I don't know where my art teacher got her degree to teach, but she didn't know the Periodic table is multicolored for a reason, the Atomic symbols come from latin, and she kept on referring to the elements as chemicals. I tried so hard to explain to her and the class the difference between the atomic number and atomic mass, but she just listened to the incorrect answers from a person who never took Chemistry. Afterwards all she did was trash talk science and anyone who loves science would never know jack about art. Cue me, the science nerd who defenended the scientific community with glory and valor, making her shut the fuck up. On a side note, look, I made art with math lol. The thing that I will never let down is how she insulted my best friend's art style behind her back to me. She said my best friend was unoriginal and untalented. I taught my best friend how to draw, so I was pissed. I made sure she knew that my best friend will conquer the world with her art! On top of that, this teacher is a cringeworthy Anglophile and Francophile. She always spoke in a fake British accent that would make anyone's ears bleed, and always talked about how great Britain and France are and they're better and more civilized than Americans. She's from the South. The 3rd photo here is an example of my best friend's drawings. Have any of you ever had a teacher that you wish would just quit their job? Feel free to tell your stories in the comment section below.
5 Things From Pre-School You Wish You Had In Adulthood
Coloring Books If you haven't heard, adult coloring books were all the rage this year. Obviously they're slightly more complex photos with no Disney characters but the serve the same purpose. They relieve stress! Coloring is therapeutic for many people and if coloring in the picture of a flower or a bear in a river, so be it. Preschool coloring was merely a distraction for young minds allowing them to embrace creativity, color outside out of the lines, and figure out their favorite color. Today, adults love coloring books because they keep them sane after a long day at work. Nap Time Adults today and especially teenagers are more sleep deprived than ever. Our schedules are packed, we don't see sleep as crucial, and our phones light up the night. Businesses are open later just because of this and your work for school and your job is more important than achieving shut eye. Nap time during preschool kept kids energetic and happy, it hasn't changed for adults. A nap can do wonders in a person. After all, sleep is essential day to day even if many feel the need to skip it. Recess A break today is squeezing in lunch between classes or eating at your desk. Offices impose quiet spaces to prevent you from talking to coworkers. Your break room is the size of a box and the longer you take on a break, the more you seem replaceable to a boss. Recess is so important for adults and children alike because it lets our minds take a break from the stress. This not only makes people more productive but improves their overall well being. Imagine 15 minutes every other hour just to pause and relax, how nice would that be? No Phones Think about how many times your phone buzzes in one day. Texts, tweets, emails, calls, snapchat, Facebook tagging, Instagram likes and the list goes on and on. When you were in preschool, the only stress you had was if you could win freeze tag or if you could run the fastest. You met your friends on the playground without needing a texting play by play of how close you were to the meeting place. Phones have destroyed communication. We base our worth on "likes" and followers. Though I love my iPhone, there are so many days when I would love to get off the grid for a bit. No Bills Mortgage. Car payment. Phone bill. Utilities. Credit card debt. Insurance. Student Loans. Healthcare. Taxes. Cable. Should I go on? Bills consume the lives of older teenagers and adults. A pre-schooler doesn't have any concept for money, let a lone a bill. Bills are important because they pay for the things we enjoy however they can create a lot of stress and unhappiness as people can literally drown in overwhelming debt. Preschool is nice because no bills, no problem. You get to wake up every morning without the worry that you've missed your phone bill for the month. Just one more thing to think about.
