Line to Hook Knots: Improved Clinch Knot
The Improved Clinch knot is very popular for attaching mono lines because it's pretty reliable, and quick to tie. If your line is greater than 25#, I don't recommend it because it'll be too hard to tie. It also doesn't work well on braided line. How to tie (so image above for a picture example): 1. Put end of line through hook's eye. Go back and turn it 5 or more times around the standing line. 2. Bring the end through the first loop behind the hook's eye and then through the big loop, too. 3. Wet the whole thing and pull on the ends to tighten it down to the hook. Slide it tight and clip the tag end close.
