Why A Daily 8-Minute Afternoon Walk Might Change Your Life
Recent studies have shown that taking 8 minutes out of your day to walk may boost your creativity. The Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition had subjects walk for eight-minute blocks of time, then tested their capacity for brainstorming and creative thinking. At work I occasionally walk away from my computer to think out a problem in a different scene. Discussing a project with my coworkers in a cafe rather than the office, etc. Turns out, that isnt the best approach. Instead of using the 8 minute break to work our a problem, this article explains, walking should be a time to let your mind wander without a filter. It doesn't matter where or when, any sort of walk will get your creative juices flowing.

Well, I wouldn't say that this will change my life, but it will certainly make me a better thinker!
It may take some practice to clear your thoughts for something like this, but I think it would be very meditative and relaxing. I often find I get caught up in my thoughts just going around and around and if I take a break and clear my head completely I'm able to come back to it with a new perspective.
