Oasis- Don't Look Back In Anger

What's the Story, Morning Glory? is one of my favorite albums to listen to start to finish. This is one of the tracks that I can keep on repeat for hours. The 90s was a great time for music, and I'd argue that Oasis was the best of the era!

10 Things All Die-Hard Music Fans Understand
Nobody can shake your bond with music, and that's obvious! Here are a few things that all die hard music fans experience. 1. It's a high level emergency when your headphones tangle up. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET ANYWHERE WITHOUT PERFECTLY TANGLE-FREE HEADPHONES 2. It's a straight up crisis if you leave home without them. I'm never going to survive the day. 3. When your favorite artist comes out with a new song, music video or album it's an event. Set an alarm, call your friends. It's go time. 4. You're probably the only person in your friend group who still pre-orders albums on iTunes and gets pumped for release dates. No...I will not just stream it on youtube. I will support my favorite artists! Literally just pre-ordered the new Libertines record yesterday so step off. 5. When your favorite band does something awesome it's a personal victory for you too. It's almost like their number one record is yours too. 6. And you do not stand for haters telling you that "your music sucks". You will defend your music till the end! Like...how dare you. 7. God forbid one of your favorite groups breaks up or someone takes a break from making albums. It's like...earth shattering. NOOOOOOOO 8. But if that happens you're always interested in introducing yourself to new artists. 9. And sometimes a really good live version of a song can bring you to tears and concerts can change your entire life. It doesn't matter where you are, at work, on the train, you're always listening intently for that perfect note, the chilling vocals. It gives you life. Concerts literally recharge your soul. 10. Music is everything to you, and you can't live without it. And you don't care who knows it! Check out some other articles about my love of music here and remember to play your favorites loud! How To Get Over A Breakup With Oasis
"Step outside the eye of your mind / don't you know you might find / a better place to play." Yes. Breakups happen. They happen quickly and they happen often. They can last one hour or one year. They are unpredictable and they change each time they occur. Different people cause different emotions, they do different amounts of damage. So where can we find the commonality in dealing with breakups if each one is unique? We can figure out how the hell to deal with them. "Don't Look Back In Anger" is a song that most people associate with losing love. It's a classic Oasis tune that provides you with all the grit and glamor of Brit Pop's finest, but it also brings up a lot of great points regarding break-ups and the relationships they can alter. The Gallaghers have had their fair share of breakups, with women...with themselves, with their band...and all in public. So of course, they'd write one of the best breakup - - makeup songs ever. "So I start a revolution from my bed 'Cos you said the brains I had went to my head. Step outside, summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out And so Sally can wait, she knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger\ I heard you say" Sometimes we have to take the blame on ourselves, and chalk these failed relationships up to a misaligning of views or constant miscommunication. We've got to understand that there is so much more to live for than other people. Remembering who we are on our own can be scary, but we can't let others judge out our spirits, or as the song says, "You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out." The fault is ours, and though we love to worry and lament because our love is gone, or our actions put us in a compromising position, we have to remember to not look back in anger. Things happen for a reason, and who knows what doors would have stayed closed had things gone differently. We can't change the past, but we can't let that effect our future either. Take a page from Oasis' book, "don't look back in anger, at least not today."
Music When The Lights Go Out: Songs To Help You Sleep
There is nothing worse than laying in your bed trying to fall asleep. Your eyes are darting around under the lids. The lights are dim, and yet, your brain won't shut off. The impulses are still firing and yet your body is exhausted. You want nothing more than to drift off to dreamland. Music is a huge deal as far as psychology goes. It can help with productivity, working out and even sleep. When you're having trouble drifting into subconscious bliss turn on these tunes and put your mind at ease. Before you know it, you'll be dreaming with the best of them. Instead of water sounds try... House of Cards by Radiohead Radiohead is a great band to listen to when you want to chill out entirely. Their music is cinematic and atmospheric, which is great for catching Z's. Radiohead's music fills the room, and will create a sonic coccoon for your slumber. Totally cool right? House of Cards is a slow building song with almost a lullaby effect. Thom Yorke's haunting vocal soothes as the song ebbs and flows like waves. It's totally better than contrived water sounds. Check out the OK Computer album too. It's full of grade A sleepy time tracks. Instead of rain and thunder sounds try... I Am The Rain by Peter Doherty This song always calms me down. It is melancholy at its height. It's a dreamy acoustic track that even has rain sounds in some of the background. It has a lot of elements that remind you of that chilly spring rain that comes when everything is falling down. It honestly is beautiful, and yes I have a bias towards this artist but still..you can't deny the power of a brilliant acoustic ballad as far as sleep goes. If you want more, check out his solo album Grace / Wastelands it's largely acoustic and very mellow. Great songwriting too. I've fallen asleep to this album many times. Instead of white noise try... Stay Covered by Thirty Seconds to Mars This may be a more edgy and deliberate version of Rihanna's smash hit, but it really gets the job done as far as sleep goes. Jared Leto's voice is a lot more gritty and steady than Rihanna's and the subtle backing provides a really smooth soundscape. If you let yourself concentrate on the driving beat and subtle lyrics of this song you'll fall asleep in no time. I highly recommend Thirty Seconds To Mars' album Love Lust Faith and Dreams, there are a lot of atmospheric tracks that build just like the first song on this list. I think it's good to have music that fills the room, it creates a safer space and enables your mind to shut off faster. Instead of animal sounds try... Number One Party Anthem by Arctic Monkeys This song's title couldn't be further from it's musical content. This song is a slow burner, like a candle being blown out at two A.M. It simmers as it goes on. This song is a rarity in the Monkeys' catalog. And it stands out as one of their best. Alex Turner's dreamy vocals fit perfectly with the acoustic vibe and are a sure fire way to help you get some rest. Try out their album A.M. which features a lot of slick tracks with even vocal quality and driving beats. This sort of regulation will help with sleep. What are your favorite sleepytime tracks? I'd love to hear from @nicolejb @allischaaff @terricariley @InPlainSight and @buddyesd and any other music lovers out there!
The 3 Countries Where Adele Isn't No.1
To tell you they're sorry for breaking your heart, Adele. WHAT!? Adele didn't achieve world domination. She may be the biggest star in ALMOST every country in the world however three countries seem to disagree. They're too preoccupied with their own music tastes and Adele just isn't one of them. In 29 international markets, Adele managed to rank No.1 in 26 of them which is basically unheard of. She's the No.1 artist in 110 countries on iTunes worldwide except for three. '3' really isn't a magic number for this pop star. Despite her record breaking album '25' : 3 million copies of the album sold in the first week of American sales alone, being the biggest-selling album released since 2011, the most sold album yearly since 2004, and broke records in how quickly her European and North American tours sold out, Adele pretty much wins...99% of the time. Thanks to Fusion.com, data was collected to show that these countries have different chart toppers and their fans wouldn't want it any other way. These countries have another preference... South Korea Why they don't prefer Adele? KPOP! Its the Korean Pop sensation that seems to dominate the music tastes of the country. The singers are hot. The music makes you want to start dancing. The music videos are strangely mesmerizing. And you've never had a party without wanting to scream at the top of your lungs to the clever lyrics that most Americans don't understand (aka Gangnam Style anyone?). Also, one must take into consideration that Koreans chart differently than most other Western countries. They have : domestic album sales, international sales, and a synthesized chart. Fusion.com found that Adele may be winning over their international chart however her streaming and album sales in South Korea are no comparison to the outstanding domestic sales of KPOP within the country. Here are Korean's top albums: - "The Most Beautiful Life," Pt 2 by the Bangtan Boys - "MATRIX" by B.A.P. - "Dear Santa - X Mas Special" by Girls Generation TTS Japan Why they don't prefer Adele? Japanese only track physical sold copies and as of now, Adele has only sold enough to make her the 7th highest album as of Dec. 7, 2015. Japanese also love KPOP but they're not as influential. It's also important to take note that digital downloads in the Japan music market outsell albums by 400% according to Fusion's research. Here are the following albums that have outsold Adele : - "For You" by Infinite - "Chandelier" by Black Number - "Sight of Blue" by Motohiro Hata Greece Why they don't prefer Adele? Blame it on the way they chart. They tracked how many '25' albums were shipped into the country instead of how many albums were sold total. Talk about bizarre. Even with Greece's adoration for American and British music, Adele only hit the No. 2 spot on Greek charts. They may track domestic and foreign music sales however their marks are harshly skewed. Sorry, Adele. The data didn't help you. Here are the albums that topped Adele: - "Ap' To Vorra Mehri to Noto" by Vasilis Karras - "M' Agapouses Ki Anthize" by Eleanora Zouganeli - "Nikos Vertis" by Nikos Vertis So really, other than MAYBE South Korea, Adele has won over everyone except for KPOP fans. There's always next time, Adele.
5 Lyrics That'll Make You Think Twice About Giving Up On Love
Music is often a direct link to the soul, and I know of a lot of lyrics that have made me think twice about giving up on love. I've been so disheartened by people, and situations in the past, that I have strongly considered just living a life of solitude. But you know what, that's a childish way to deal with your emotions. As I get older, I'm starting to realize that human interaction is way more important than I used to think it was. Life isn't about the things you have, it's about the people you share it with. It's about the love you cultivate. Yes things get hard, and the road can be long to finding happiness, but you know what, if it's worth it...the right person will come. So sit back and read some of my favorite lyrics. They inspire me every day to try and keep going. 1. “Stand up beside the fireplace/ take that look from off your face/ You ain’t ever gonna burn my heart out.” - Oasis / Don't Look Back In Anger If we can admit to ourselves that we can stay strong despite the things that happen to us in love, or otherwise, we can open ourselves up to new, better relationships right? We can't let anyone take our power. Love isn't about that, it's about sharing the power, and growing together. 2. "You say your heart ain't ever been broken / you think you know where you're going. You say this life hasn't given you nothin'/ you've got another thing coming." - The Killers / Tidal Wave If you haven't been in a relationship, and you don't think you know anything about love, and don't want to...it's easy to get jaded, but don't give up. Because somewhere out there is the perfect person to teach you all you need to know. 3. "Darkness comes and I will/ Sing you a song / I will love you forever / Or at least till morning comes." - Lady Don't You Fall Backwards / Peter Doherty Sometimes love is temporary, but that's what makes it exciting. There is finite time for some of us with others. It's just a part of the exquisite pain of being in love and dealing with falling out of it. 4. "I'm in love for the first time/ Don't you know it's gonna last?/ It's a love that lasts forever/ It's a love that had no past." - Don't Let Me Down / The Beatles We often put a lot of pressure on our relationships, we think they'll end in marriage or commitment of another kind, but you know what, that's not always the case. But that's no reason to give up on love. The nature of it is wonderful because for the moment, if we're in love, we have that feeling forever, whether the person leaves or not. There's something eternal about it. 5. "You are what you love / not who loves you." Fall Out Boy - Save Rock and Roll We all must remember though, that love isn't always about people. Sometimes it's about the things we love, our passions and hobbies. Sometimes it's about our families. Remember: Love does not have a definition or an expectation. It merely exists in the people we spend time with and the interests we hold dear.

Oasis' Noel Gallagher Harshly Rips On Both Adele and Taylor Swift
This is definitely bad blood. As far as Oasis' Noel Gallagher is concerned, Adele and Taylor Swift are the worst artists in the industry. They say you can't please everyone in the business however he isn't holding any opinions back on this one. He's known to be one of the most vocal British musicians in the industry and within the industry comes a lot of interviews that ask questions about the hottest names in music, which are Adele and Taylor Swift. Let's just say that he didn't take these questions so well. "If I get asked a question on anything, I give a straight answer," Gallagher explained to Australia's Music Feeds. "It is interesting that no-one ever talks about my love of U2 and Coldplay, but there you go. Lately, the one I've been asked about is Adele. If someone wants to know what I think of Adele, I'll f**king tell them. Not because I have any sort of agenda or because I'm trying to whip up any kind of hysteria." "I just don't see what all the fuss is about," he then continued. "I don't like her music. I think it's music for f**king grannies." Gallagher went on to complain about modern music in general, "Music has nosedived into f**king blandness -- a sea of cheese." Back in March, Gallagher was in an interview with Rolling Stone. When they got to a question about his thoughts on Taylor Swift's songwriting status and success, he laughed in the interviewer's face. Yikes. "Who says that? Her parents?" he snapped. "Who's 'people'? Name these people. You're f**king lying. She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words, and you f**king know it." However, we don't think Adele and Taylor Swift mind as they laugh their way to the bank with both of their record braking albums. So HA Gallagher!
