Good Field Notes: The Diary
Diaries are an often overlooked, key part of doing field work! You can't be expected to feel chipper at all times, and a diary can be the perfect way to balance any stress and frustrations with your work.

I never really thought of anthropologists as keeping diaries--it always seemed more ike they're only taking notes. I guess it is really important for them to keep track of their own emotions, though, so that they can review it

@onesmile exactly! Often we forget how we were feeling in a moment, and later experiences affect how we remember it. With a diary, we can avoid that!

@onesmile Most people aren't aware of that, though, unless they have a diary or something simlar to look back on.
