Addictive, delicious and cheap- this is Korean snack food at it's best.
Fancy versions of it are sold in restaurants but most people opt to buy it from the street stalls (where for some reason, it just tastes so much better).
It's made from Korean rice cakes cooked in a spicy chilli sauce with cabbage and fish cakes (called O-deng).
There should be a rule that says you can't leave Korea without trying Ddeokbokki because it's fantastic. Admittedly, it generally falls on the spicier side but each store makes it differently so it's worth trying more than once.
