So you've spent a few hours gazing at the galleries of your choice at The British Museum and find when you step outside, it's raining rather heavily. Popping into the Museum Tavern across the street is not a bad choice to while away an hour or so. The reviews of the food aren't great, but you can always get a cup of tea. (Although the Starbucks next door has a really cool basement room according to a friend.) Obviously close to the BM; also Sir John Soane's House, Soho, Charing Cross Road bookshops. Tottenham Court Road Tube stop is the closest, with service on the Central and Northern lines.
