Rowling has been writing under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith for years, and now that people know it's her, she's writing even more. The first book her series about Cormoran Strike came out last year, and the second came out recently. She says she hopes to write more than seven books--the length of the Harry Potter series--for this series, and really has no end point in mind. "I had known for a long time that I had this character in my mind, and that I wanted to write a detective series and part of me hoped that I might be able to keep it long enough, kept the story going long enough to establish a series." The series will go on for a long time, which means that we'll get more little bits of crime fiction that Rowling loves to write so much! I'm so excited to start reading this series.
Wasn't she really upset when someone exposed her pseudonym? I seem to remember that happening a few years ago.
@caricakes @onesmile She was pretty annoyed, but it mostly had to do with the fact that she really hopped to be selling books for her writing skills, not her name; hopefully she's been able to find a good balance
@caricakes Really?? I can see her being annoyed but actually upset? @timeturnerjones do you know?
@galinda @funkystar25 yeah! If you google it now there's quite a lot of info on it, but she used to use it for her crime novels so that she wouldn't be just getting readers from HP fans (and, maybe, because people tend to expect men to write crime fiction). I'm glad she was revealed, simply because I might not have been able to find these books otherwise!
I had no idea she wrote under a pseudonym...
