Soups Help With Weight Loss, Here's How:
You know, there's nothing more delightful than a warm bowl of soup on a chilly evening. But as a soup lover, I love it anytime. When I was focused on losing weight, soups were a large part of my diet. I made them homemade and by scratch. It's also a great way to use up the last bits of food you have and make it into something tasty. (They're a money saver!) Most soups are low calories, given that they aren't cream based. You want something more broth-y. The sort of homemade soups that I make, I can literally help myself to a whole pot if I wanted to and still stay under a 500 calories. Remember, soups are mostly water, and if you're preparing them with vegetables, and you're going to have something delicious for very few calories.
To keep them low calorie, try clear or broth-based soups with plenty of vegetables lean protein, and beans. What you do want avoid are any soups that are cream-based because those can pack on a lot of calories. You'd want to also avoid soups with cheese, sour cream, or just anything cream (cream of tomato, cream of mushroom, cheddar cheese soup).
Soups can be very filing and satisfying. You can have a large bowl of it to replace some of your regular meals, or you can just have it as a side. A soup and a salad (watch out for the dressing!) can reduce overeating and can provide great healthy items like vegetables and protein.
