People with HIV/AIDS infection of different stages need different intensive care, support, and treatment. At the initial stage, it remains asymptomatic for the first few years. But, as the immunity level lessens over a while in the person, it reveals. As the immunity level decreases, the affected person becomes susceptible to various opportunistic infections; this is called the initial stage. Along with proper medical treatment, the infected persons should have psycho-social support and empathy.
Among various types of HIV/AIDS treatments, taking medicines regularly which reduce the amount of HIV in an affected body is the most important. The medicine for this is popularly known as antiretroviral therapy. Though we have no proven and effective treatment and cure till now, one can control HIV/AIDS with diligent observation, care, and medical treatment. Medical research has revealed in many cases, most of the patients experience that the virus can be reduced and controlled within six months of effective medication. However, HIV is so lethal that nothing can prevent the transmission of other sexually transmitted diseases.
Effective Treatment that Reduces the amount of HIV
The quantity of HIV is known as viral load. Regular medications can drastically chop down the size of the viral load. Taking good care of oneself with proper medicines suppresses the amount of risk, vulnerability, and the threat of the virus. It proves that after the HIV medication, the viral load goes down drastically, the virus remains undetected, which is called undetectable viral load. The treatment entirely proves that the medicine is working hence, effective.
