What an inspirational boy
Liang Yaoyi, an 11 year old boy from Shenzhen, already knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. He would be a rich businessman and earn lots of money so he could take care of his parents. However, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, he decided instead to attend the local university and read medicines in order to pursue his dreams of becoming a doctor. He would spend the rest of his career helping those around him and those in need. However, Yaoyi will never get the chance as he passed away at the end of last month. Before he died, he told doctors that he wished to donate his organs as well as donate his body to the medical university he had one day hoped to attend. He had said that he was "therefore fulfilling his [my] dream of entering a medical university". At the end of the organ removal surgery, the doctors all bowed to him and his parents three times in respect of their sacrifice. His organs have already saved the lives of others.

I saw this in the ChinaSmack news the other day - it's really heartbreaking. Although I hope his donation has been used to save the lives of others who really need transplants rather than the rich and well connected who just manipulate the waiting lists...
