One of my favorite things about Mont Saint-Michel is that when the tides are low, you can run to the island straight from the coast of France. Architects from Dietmar Feichtinger have planned to make it much easier to reach the island by fashioning brand new bridges from the coast to the small island.
I didnt get there when the tide was low, but I did enjoy my walk there. Hopefully these new bridges don't take away from the medieval charm :)

I only spent a few hours there but the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. I hope the abbey still keeps its charm.

This looks amazing, though I'd love to beat the bridges as well....seems more fun when the tide is risking whether or not you can go and come.
