A detailed infographic that shares some interesting poll results from teens and tweens. Nothing really earth-shaking here--not many of them use Twitter, for example--but I was surprised at over all how few have smartphones. I've heard in many workshops and webinars that students primarily access social media on smartphones, and that percentage is highest among lower income families. This infographic seems to focus on the friendship-driven side of social media, as defined by Mimi Ito. I'd be curious if the YouTube users were merely viewers or if they were creating and sharing videos.
I'm surprised by how many kids think that Facebook is something "for parents to use."

Very few of my middle schoolers will admit to using Facebook. They're all on Instagram or Tumblr.
