Running a professional cycling team is not cheap. You've probably seen from all our features that each team has an incredible number of vehicles and lots of highly specialized equipment. Not to mention top riders like Alberto Contador and Chris Froome, and the highly sought-after staff who support them. Each cycling team has a different set of aims, and this is also reflected in their budget. Some teams, such as Tinkoff-Saxo have a rich backer, others, like Belkin and Team Sky, are run on a purely commercial basis.
