I wish we had cool videos like this when I was studying science! These visual metaphors are memorable, unlike the textbook explanation.

I am such a visual learner, so I really appreciate all of these videos that educators are making now. It would have certainly helped me when I was in school.

MyPerfectWords - A Credible Writing Assistant or a Scam?
If you are short on time and have loads of assignments to turn in then finding writing help is something that you must have done. It is quite common for high school and college students to turn to online research to find a credible custom writing help for their essays and papers. To help you make the decision easily and quickly, we have reviewed MyPerfectWords, a writing assistance company that claims to be 100% legitimate and have native writers for multiple types of assignments. Let's find out if they really are what they claim to be. Quick Review (On a scale of 5 stars) Website Design - 4.5/5 Services - 5/5 Ordering Process - 5/5  Customer Service 5/5 Prices and Discount 4/5  Content Quality 5/5 Customer Reviews 4/5  Conclusion 4.5/5 Website Design MyPerfectWords website design is clean and crisp, something that is hard to find if you are someone who is always looking for online custom essay writing help. Instead of cramming the entire website with, especially the homepage, with content, they have sectioned them and added reasonable spaces between them. The colors are nicely balanced with negative space and the entire site is easy to scan and browse. The transition time between the pages is hardily 2 to 3 seconds, which is pretty quick. However, I find the HUGE list of categories down in the footer a bit overwhelming, i hope they could come up with some clever ideas about them. Services They offer an extensive plethora of services. The range is quite impressive and it is great to see that you will not have to run anywhere else to get your work edited and proofread. They do it all. Besides, they offer a number of benefits. They have detailed the reasons that any student should work with them that includes ‘premium quality content, 100% privacy, unlimited revisions, on time delivery, friendly customer support and order tracking’. To know more, I placed the order on their website. Ordering Process The ordering process is simple. You do not have to fill in loads and loads of information. It has only 3 steps and you can place the order under 15 minutes, which is a great relief. Usually, the companies send a big and detailed questionnaire to fill but, MyPerfectWords has a swift and concise process. Customer Service Once I placed the order, one of the customer representatives contacted me himself, good to know someone does care about us. The person that I communicated with was polite and quite knowledgeable about all the services and he knows how to answer the questions. Talking about questions, the site has an inclusive FAQs section that answers nearly all of the questions and concerns. To help you further, they have some free writing samples that you can view and see how they work. I found them right on top and it is good that I did not have to fish through the entire site to see if they got any work samples. Prices and Discounts Considering what I have found out about the prices other companies are offering, I found MyPerfectWords. a bit in the pricier side. A high school paper price per page is $15, after the 50% discount which is more than what I found on other websites. It is justified or not, I am yet to find out. Content Quality Before going on with how my paper was written, I would like to add that my paper was delivered within the deadline that I had given, no late submissions. Getting to the content quality, my paper was good and I am generally satisfied with the quality. The references were all from credible sources, no Wikipedia, and it was well arranged and structured. I can tell by the look of it that it was written by a Native speaker, which is just what they claim. Absolutely worth the time and their cost. Customer Reviews The company has mixed reviews, which is something that nearly all companies have. People like me would say that their experience was great while there would be some who may not find their experience worthwhile. Whatever it is, instead of listening to anyone, I believe that you should place an order with them and see how it works for you. And from the other site, Conclusion On the whole, my experience was positive and satisfying. Though I do find that the prices are a bit higher than what other companies charge, the results are good and even though they justify their price with quality, I hope that they review them. Rating: 4.5 Stars

National Library Workers Day!
Hey guys! This isn't a holiday most people know about but its SO IMPORTANT! It's National Library Workers Day! Alright so you might not be thinking this is a huge deal BUT librarians, library technicians, and library aides all around the world (right this very second!) are helping someone learn something new, discover a new world, and best of all, to fall in love with reading. If that isn't enough for you - Why you should love libraries: 1. Libraries serve a vital social service by helping bridge social gaps. No matter what your background is, if you have access to a library, you have access to literacy and computer training. They give you resources to learn as well as people to teach you! 2. Libraries have been around for 5,000 years. They contain a TON of info as well as trained people to help you find whatever you're looking for. 3. Libraries can act as safe havens for students at school. For those with anxiety or for those who do not feel comfortable around their peers, the library is a peaceful escape. 4. Libraries provide support for job seekers via free access to the internet to search for and respond to job applications, and by helping them to improve their employability skills. Among a thousand reasons why you should be proud of library workers, I'm especially fond of this day because my mom is a public school library tech! She worked at the elementary and middle school levels and has been changing kids lives for almost a decade! (Actually, maybe more than a decade?!) It was her dream job since she was little and even though it took her a while, she finally got her own library :) Look! She's even holding a ridiculously large book as a small child! She is never without a book in her hand, car, or purse haha! (But really that's a bible my grandpa had to swear on to become fire chief, but that's besides the point) Also, my mom has a Tardis in her school library. PLUS! She puts in the extra effort to keep her library up with the times. That means focusing part of the small budget on graphic novels since that has proven to be the best way to get middle school boys excited about reading. Or focusing on responsible internet use, how to do research on and offline, and of course, how to find the books you won't want to put down! So if you see or know someone who works or volunteers in a library, thank them for everything they do!
How To Learn A New Language At Home
I've been trying to improve my French recently, and came across these awesome YouTubers called DamonandJo. They have self-taught themselves nearly 6 languages! I believe they speak French, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, German, and of course English! You can either watch the video above (which I suggest cause they have the BEST sense of humor) or check out their tips below: 1. Follow Famous YouTubers in the language you want to learn! There are tons of youtubers in other languages, and often if they are famous enough, there will be english subtitles. Listen to them to hear real people speaking the language rather than a text book! They're usually super entertaining too so it helps :) 2. Follow those YouTubers or famous people on twitter so you see that language each day! The easiest way to get used to a foreign language is to see it all the time and this really helps! 3. Change your phone/facebook/etc language to your desired language! Since you probably already know where everything is in your phone or facebook, you wont be confused and you'll learn a ton of new vocab! 4. Listen to audio books in the language you want!!! Audible has a ton of foreign language books. Try starting with a book you already know well (like Harry Potter for me - I'm trying to read that in Korean right now...) and listen throughout your day! 5. Sign up for foreign magazines or newsletters! Or even better download their app in another language! For example, my boyfriend gets push notification from Le Monde which is a french newspaper :) Even if you only read the headline, its practice. 6. Try cooking a meal using a recipe in a different language! You start to learn that a lot of words you actually already know (for example, sauté means the same thing in french and in korean bokkeum (like bokkeumbap) means fried! so literally "fried rice!" 7. Watch TV shows in the language Duh!!!! 8. Talk to yourself and dont be afraid! Practice speaking whenever you can, even to people who are strangers! be brave! What languages are you trying to learn?!
Raising Sharp Readers
Here's an excellent article by Colby and Aliana Sharp, about how they are raising their three (soon to be four) children as readers. Colby is a founding member of The Nerdy Book Club, and I've followed his blog for years, but this insight into how he and his wife foster a love of reading at home provides great tips to share with parents. I've always believed surrounding children with books makes it inevitable that they will explore them, even if they can't read them yet. Corralling them on a single bookcase means books are easier to overlook. Remember, books are competing in most houses for attention. Leave them everywhere--they're not clutter, they're decor:) Be a reader yourself. One of my friends, an avid reader and book reviewer, remembers her mother stirring a pot with a book in her hand. Dinner was often overcooked, but reading was established as something very important! For some of us, local bookstores are a thing of the past, but the internet can allow you to connect your child with authors, keep up to date on new releases, and yes, seek out those elusive author visits, even if you have to drive a bit. Other tips that Colby and Aliana share include giving books as gifts (that's all I send my nieces and nephews. Scour the end of the year best book lists if you're not familiar with new children's books, or give classics that you enjoyed.) Also, frequent visits to the library to ensure you have a great selection--our library allows unlimited checkouts, and I love seeing a child carrying a large sack of books out the door. While you're at the library, be sure to explore all there is on offer--let your children pick out CDs or videos, play with puzzles or toys, etc. Our library has an outdoor space connected to the children's library. Believe me, creating positive memories about the library don't just have to involve books, but they will get kids back in the door when they're older! There are several other interesting tips in this article, so be sure to read it in its entirety, then share with parents with young ones.
The Class of 2016: This Year's Funniest Graduation Caps
It's that time of year again - time for the senior classmen (and classwomen!) to say their goodbyes and celebrate their accomplishments as they finally receive their diplomas. Let's admit it. Graduation ceremonies, while understandably important, can get a little dull. There's a whole lot of speeches, a whole lot of sitting, and that obligatory watching-every-single-student-walk part. However, grads have gotten creative over the years, keeping things interesting with all sorts of gags - the simplest being the funny designs they put on their graduation caps! Graduation cap humor definitely reflects the times. Check out some of the funniest caps of the graduation season thus far, and then let me know: Are these SO 2016 or what?! "M-Morty, this is - belch - the first day of the r-rest of your life." Shout-out to all those cat ladies gettin' degrees to support their fur babies. Check out Sponge Bob Square Cap over here. This will forever be my favorite quote from 'The Office'. Because Lisa Simpson should be all of our education #goals. He-Man, you the real (heavily bedazzled) MVP. "I solemnly swear I am up to gettin' paid." You can practically hear the mic drop after reading this one. +1 BRIGHT FUTURE! So which one of these were your favorite? What would your graduation cap look like? Let me know in the comments below! (And for more cool and creative caps, check out @HairConfetti's Disney-Inspired Graduation Caps card too!)
Board Books for Babies and Toddlers
Babies are going to chew on books. They have done so since the dawn of, well, books, I guess! Here are some adorable board books that are also reasonably priced, because as much as you want to treasure your child's beloved books, saving one that's been gummed to pieces just isn't appealing. Once they are past the chewing stage, almost all of these are available in hardcover or paperback, too. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney is a beautiful story for bedtime. Repeated reading will be requested! Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann will bring out the giggles. It's virtually wordless, and your child will delight in reading the story through the illustrations. Where Is the Green Sheep by Mem Fox is a perennial favorite. The rhyming text will have your toddler asking "Where?" and delightedly pointing out the green sheep to you. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? written by Bill Martin Jr. is another simple rhyming text full of Eric Carle's gorgeous collages. A fun way to reinforce colors, too! Goodnight, Moon by Margaret Wise Brown needs little introduction. A tranquil book at the end of a toddler's busy day, it will also work its calming magic on you! Moo, Baa, La La La by Sandra Boynton was one of the favorite board books in our house. Silly rhymes and humorous illustrations will have your toddler giggling and asking for multiple re-readings. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault, with Lois Ehlert's illustrations, is a bouncing rhyme of an alphabet book that will stick in your head for days. The simple and bright illustrations will delight toddlers. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is another perennial top 10. Carle's vibrant collages seem to jump off the page, and your toddler will giggle at the caterpillar's appetite, and wonder over the beautiful butterfly he becomes. I've also included a few videos, featuring Eric Carle reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar and a read along version of Moo Baa La La La. This is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg when it comes to board books, so be sure to explore your local bookstore for more!
