James Wright Foley was an American photojournalist who was captured by a terrorist group in November 2012. Foley journalism began in Syria and he has remained totally neutral in all issue he reports. Foley was a native of Rochester, New Hampshire. He graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2008. He was captured in Syria in November of 2012, and was out of contact until August of 2014. On August 19, a video was posted to YouTube by ISIS depicting Foley making the statement "I wish I had more time. I wish I could have the hope for freedom to see my family once again." The video, which was taken down by YouTube, then shows an ISIS militant beheading him. The militant then claimed that they were holding another American journalist, Steven Joel Soltoff, and would execute him unless US President Barack Obama halted airstrikes against them.
