After studying a language for a period of time, it is inevitable that one would want to gauge one's progress and so I present to you the official Russian language proficiency exam 'TORFL' (Тест по русскому языку как иностранному).
The test began in 1992 and in 1998 became a requirement for entry into Russian universities.
There are at present five levels which correspond directly to the five levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Each level test has five parts; Lexis and Grammar, Reading, Speaking, Writing and Listening. The test is taken over two days with Lexis and Grammar, Reading and Listening on the first day and Speaking and Writing on the second day.
Do you have any experience of taking the TORFL exam? If you do, please share your experiences below~
