Ingredients: Chocolate Cupcakes: 1 box devils food cake mix (dry mix) 1 package chocolate pudding (dry mix) 4 large eggs 1 cup of milk 2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted Caramel Buttercream Frosting: 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), softened 3-4 cups powdered sugar ¼ teaspoon table salt 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 4 tablespoons milk or heavy cream 1/4 cup caramel sauce 12 mini Twix Candy bars, cut in half chocolate sprinkles Directions: Preheat oven to 325F degrees. Line (2) 12 count muffin pan with cupcake liners. Set aside. For the cupcakes: Using a electric or stand mixer, mix the cake mix, chocolate pudding, eggs, milk, and melted butter until smooth. Pour chocolate batter into the cupcake liners (about 3/4 the way full). Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting. For the frosting: Mix softened butter on medium speed with an electric or stand mixer. Beat for about 3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar, cream, vanilla extract, pink food coloring and salt. Add caramel sauce. Increase to high speed and beat for 3 minutes. Frost cooled cupcakes (I used Wilton 1M piping tip). Cut mini Twix bars in half and place in frosting. Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles.
