I'm so excited for these two books to finally release! "Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s “Learned” by Lena Dunham doesn't release until September 30, but I am beyond excited for this collection of personal essays that promises wit, comedy, and brutal, occasionally uncomfortable, honesty. Already being compared to Tina Fey, David Sedaris, and Nora Ephron, Lena Dunham is filling a tall order of poignancy and comedy. But this writer-actress-director-producer-wunderkind seems equal to the challenge. In Dunham’s own words, “No, I am not a sexpert, a psychologist, or a dietician. I am not a mother of three or the owner of a successful hosiery franchise. But I am a girl with a keen interest in having it all, and what follows are hopeful dispatches from the frontlines of that struggle.” Sounds great, and relatable! Second, Amy Poehler's new book is coming up! "Yes Please" doesn't come out until the end of October (sigh...) but it already looks great! Amy Poehler is one seriously funny lady. I have been waiting for this book since BookCon and the wait seriously couldn't be longer!! Poehler has characterized her book as a “missive from the middle of my life,” an attempt to describe what it’s like to feel “young and old at the same time.” I expect lots of smart humor, and can't wait to be able to fully enjoy it.
