IU will hold an encore concert on Sept. 22 and 23 to thank the fans who showed their support throughout her national tour, which took place in June and July. Loen Entertainment announced Monday that the concert will take place at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan District, central Seoul. “Unlike the last tour, this concert is an outdoor event,” the agency said. “It will be full of various spectacles.” IU’s national tour was composed of concerts in six cities: Ulsan, Jeonju, Busan, Suwon, Daegu and Seoul. More than 20,000 fans flocked to the shows to catch a glimpse of the teenage singing sensation. The tour was IU’s first since making her debut some four years ago. Concerts were all sold out, in part because IU chose smaller venues as she paid attention to the quality of the performances rather than the seating capacity, her agency said. Tickets were snapped up quickly, and ticket sellers were surprised to find that unlike most idol groups, IU’s concert attendees consisted mostly of males in their 30s and 40s.
