For fans of the DC Animated Universe life after Justice League and Justice League Unlimited has been hard. We’ve scraped by with a new movie here and there, but those are hit or miss and it doesn’t quite fill the itch that you get for a good Justice League fix. Now at long Last Machinima has announced that they will be producing a three-part animated Justice League series, Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles which will launch just before the release of the Justice League film Gods & Monsters (Spring 2015). I’m a little disappointed that Chronicles as well as Gods & Monsters will be produced by one half of the famous Timm & Dini duo, but one is better than none and with Bruce Timm at the helm as the executive producer I’m still really excited to see what Chronicles and Gods & Monsters has in store. According to the announcement "revolve around a newly conceived reality in the DC Universe where Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are much darker versions of the Super Heroes that people think they know.” I’ll admit, this makes me a little skeptical since I’m not usually a fan of “darker” interpretations of characters I know and love, but honestly my excitement far outweighs any skepticism I have.
