Terrible accident in downtown San Francisco landed a car upside down and a cyclist badly hurt. This cyclist rode up to a stop sign at a 4-way stop and decided to follow a car through the intersection. Meanwhile, another car (VW) flies through the intersection, t-boning the SUV the cyclist was following. The impact caused the SUV to hit the cyclist shortly before falling over. Even though the impact was reduced because of the SUV, the cyclist did not get away unscathed. A large amount of energy was still transferred into throwing him in the pavement. Let this be a prime example. Don't tag onto cars when they go through an intersection. It won't make you safer.
