Iris Grace is only 5 years old, and she is already creating beautiful paintings that both fans and buyers have likened to monet. While that would be amazing for any child, Iris is also affected by autism. Her painting skills seem to rise out of her exceptional focus, and her attention to detail!. Autism is a poorly-understood neurological disorder that can impair an individual’s ability to engage in various social interactions. But, Iris can't be stopped! Little Iris is slowly learning to speak, whereas most children have already begun to speak at least a few words by age 2. Painting, though, is where she really shines! “We have been encouraging Iris to paint to help with speech therapy, joint attention and turn taking,” her mother, Arabella Carter-Johnson, explains on her website. “Then we realised that she is actually really talented and has an incredible concentration span of around 2 hours each time she paints. Her autism has created a style of painting which I have never seen in a child of her age, she has an understanding of colours and how they interact with each other.” This is amazing; and, for some reason, I see a cats face or form in every single painting! To check out her work:
society says its ok to be differwnt but when ur different then you have some issue... all of our brains work different and we are qll meant for something special.. I love this
@danidee I believe her works are available for sale on her site, but I'd love to meet her and /then/ have her paint me something!
Grace is amazing! I want her to paint me something.
@KyleCrandall You're right: we all are meant for something special! Thanks for the reminder :)
@pixiedust I've heard in other stories as well that finding this kind of creative expression outlet can be really helpful; best of luck to them in their journey! That little boy is lucky to have parents who care.
