UCLA has extended the contract of Steve Alford an additional year and he is now signed through the 2020-2021 season. Alford just led the Bruins to their first sweet 16 since 2008 but this has to be a head shaking move. While this is a great move for the coach, this is a head shaking move for UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero.
Alford will have a lot to prove in this upcoming season since he won't have departed stars Kyle Anderson, Jordan Adams and Zach LaVine.
Although the Bruins have added five-star freshman Kevon Looney, former five-star guard Isaac Hamilton, four-star center Thomas Welsh and three-star forward Gyorgy Goloman, the Bruins have lost two players in Jonah Bolden and Jon Octeus due to the NCAA ruling both of them partial qualifiers.
Will Alford live up to his contract? I guess we will see this season!
