Winners and Losers of Week 5

Winners: 1) 49ers - Run Game - Once again the Niners established the run and dominated the line of scrimmage on the offensive end. They are no longer depending on Kaepernick to make big plays and have wisely run the rock with Gore and Hyde to beat up their opponents. 2) Giants - Defense - It looks like the Giants defense is back and this team is starting to once again resemble the Giants of old where their pass rush and power run game dominated opponents. 3) The Cowboys - Dez Bryant - The Cowboys once again utilized the power run game with Demarco Murray but the big highlight of the night was Dez Bryant's amazing catch that set up the win for the Cowboys. Yes the Cowboys need the run game established, but if they want to win these close matchups they will need Dez to step up and he certainly did Sunday. Losers: 1) Eagles - Secondary - Although the Eagles won their game against the Buccaneers, they are being exposed every week in the secondary where they give up huge play after huge play. It's only a matter of time before their inept secondary costs them close games. 2) Jets - QB Situation - The QB situation in New York is a mess and this is a perfect example of why you need a franchise QB. Geno Smith is not the answer and look for the to go after a QB this draft. 3) Bears - Mistakes - The Bears defense is not as good as most people probably remember and it certainly doesn't help that they make a ton of boneheaded mistakes and turnovers. They can't afford to make these mistakes - certainly in their division.

NFL Week 14 Preview
With lots of great NFL football on this week as the playoffs approach, let's make some picks! Steelers vs. Bengals The Bengals have had the division lead for the entire season behind QB Andy Dalton and WR AJ Green but the Steelers are always a dangerous team come the end of the season. Ben Roethlisberger just seems to know how to win tight, important games, and I'm not sure the same can be said about Dalton. However, the game is in Cincinnati, so I'll give it to the home team. Bengals 31, Steelers 23. Titans vs. Jets Rookie Marcus Mariota has been solid for the Titans recently, but WR Brandon Marshall is having one of the best seasons of his long career and his partner Eric Decker have given Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick lots of be happy about. The Jets are playing for a playoff spot while Tennessee's season is virtually over. I think the Jets' D and their hot offense is too strong for the rookie QB. Jets 23, Titans 13. Cowboys vs. Packers Two teams that have struggled more than others thought they might this season match up in Green Bay. The Cowboys will again be without Tony Romo. Both teams had crazy wins last week with the Pack winning on one of the most improbably Hail Mary plays of all time. While neither team has had a good season, I'm giving it to the home team in a beat down. Packers 31, Cowboys 17. Do I have it right? What do you guys think? Late Introduction
My apologies, I was having such a good time on Vingle that I forgot to properly introduce myself. My real name is Jason. I live in the Pacific Northwest region of the USA. First off, I am husband and father to my psychotic but lovable family. I have some cats. Jackson and Sarah respectively. Jackson is a 17 pound tomcat I picked up in an alley and Sarah is his feral daughter we eventually tamed. I'm a high school dropout. Never could maintain interest and besides, my skills were already developed long before I even hit middle school. I am great with machines. All machines. If you can put an energy source in one side and get a desired reaction out the other; I can build, repair, and especially modify it. I love to modify cars, especially Fords. No, not Mustangs or the usual candidates for souping up. I do sleepers. You know, the ones that shouldn't be fast but leave you wondering how the hell something like that could slam your doors. I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but when I do it's anime. I was taught Japanese culture and language in middle school. It gives me a greater appreciation for anime and manga when I am aware of the cultural nuances. Going to Sakura-con this year? I'll see you there. I you went last year, you might have seen me. You know, the ONLY Sebastian who was slender and over 6 1/2 feet tall. Yeah, that one. I was a Seahawk fan before is was cool. Since I was there for the bad years, it makes these good years feel a whole lot better. Before I close, I will give an honorable mention to videogames. Now it is my kids who benefit from me keeping everything I had since my own childhood. There is so much more in my life I love, but the last word belongs to booze. Especially beer. Not just because I'm a drunk, but it is a skilled craft and the best way to show my appreciation is to drink up. Well that is a peek into my twisted little life. Hope that is enough to let you know where I stand in this world. BONUS One Vingle member is my kid. Can anyone figure out who it is? Neither one of us will try to make it obvious.
Some Thoughts From the Thanksgiving Games
Not the best games ever but a great day of football nonetheless. Here's what I saw today. How about you? The Lions Offense Awakens: Stafford nearly threw for 400 yards, Megatron catches 11 passes for 146 yards and 2 TDs, and the running game materialised in the form of Joique Bell. They have been criticized for their lack of offense for the past few weeks but they found the answer and showed why they can't be disregarded in this year's playoff race. The Bears Defense stinks: They simply got shredded in all aspects tonight and on the road the Bears defense is simply terrible. They will not win games with this defense hands down. The Bears Offense Talented but No Results: The Bears were contained all night with the lone exception of Alshon Jeffrey's two TDs in the first half. Forte only got 6 carries for 5 yards and you simply cannot just give up on the run like that no matter how good the opponent's run defense is... unless you are Tom Brady and the Pats. The Cowboys Defense is a Liability: The Cowboys defense has been pretty good for most of the season, doing enough to win, but they have been exposed by the Giants last week and the Eagles this week. The Cowboys offense may be vaunted but they need to be perfect if they want to win with this defense. The Seahawks Back To Championship Form: My Niners were lost today but you have to give the Seahawks a lot of the credit. They came to play and simply outplayed the Niners in all facets of the game. The Seahawks defense was playing sound and Beast Mode was back at it today pounding for hard earned yards. The Niners chances of making it to the playoffs took a big hit while the Seahawks look to make some noise this year once again.
Thanksgiving turns into day of blowouts
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was perfect - family, drinks, food and lots of football! It was a pretty crazy day in the NFL, with two of the three games turning out to be total blowouts. The Panthers and the Lions ran rampant on the Cowboys and Eagles, respectively. Here's how it went down. Lions QB Matt Stafford had a huge day on Thursday, as the veteran threw 5 TD passes - including 3 to veteran WR Calvin Johnson - en route to a huge 45-14 beat down of Philadelphia. The Lions, who always have the honor of playing on Thanksgiving, made good on their tradition this year by smacking around the Eagles. This one was close in the first half, but Calvin Johnson caught 3 TDs in the third quarter and made it a blowout (also, how amazing is that photo? It almost looks fake!). The Eagles have now completely fallen apart, and have given up 45 points in consecutive games. Their defense has to be one of the worst in the league, and it looks like the offseason move of paying CB Byron Maxwell a huge contract was the wrong decision, as he was torched all afternoon. Meanwhile, the Lions suddenly have a breath of life in the NFC playoff picture. They're still on the outside looking in, but they have lots of momentum after a huge Thanksgiving win. The Cowboys suffered a similar fate to their NFC East rivals in Philadelphia, as they got absolutely hammered by the still-perfect Panthers. This one ended 33-14 in favor of Carolina, who moves to 11-0. Dallas, on the other hand, slips to 3-8, effectively ending their playoff hopes. The Panthers returned two Tony Romo INTs for touchdowns, including one within the first minute of play, and it was never close. The Panthers offense stuttered for much of the night but it didn't matter, as their defense - especially cornerback Josh Norman, who shut down Dez Bryant all game - put in a huge performance and defined the game. The 'Boys lost Romo for the season toward the end of the game as the QB broke is collarbone and will be shut down with the playoffs basically out of the question. A very disappointing season for Dallas, while Carolina on the other hand continues to fly as high as any team in the league. I didn't watch the third game, but the Bears shocked the Packers by beating them 17-13 in Green Bay. The Bears move to 5-6 and the Packers are now 7-4. Green Bay has been struggling for a few weeks in a row now and something may be wrong with Aaron Rodgers, who is having his worst season in a while. They've got to figure it out quickly in order to save their season. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving - enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend! @Starbell808 @karencorchado @BrookieyElba @ValerieAlissaPa @Link4TW @sanazsanaz @TravisBeck @Shippudenguy21 @gatorchick96 @MatthewBoughton @MarcusJiles @BrandonMcNeil @KyleBerke @DerekGumtow @havic @Straightshooter @yaakattackk @RodneyYoung @DreJones @JonathanKerns @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @smothgreen @afxs @johnnolastname @ChristopherKenn @ChasePage @coreywriley91 @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @addri @ChrisStephens @AniBreo @VeronicaArtino @TomasVasquez @oct6eg10 @Darlin972
NFL Dads Tackle Hair Styling In This Pantene Campaign.
Every year, major sponsors shell out some serious cash to grab our attention during the Super Bowl, by far the largest single sporting event of the year. They enlist A-List celebrities, bust out the CGI, and have the ability to transform a typical 30-second spot into a minute long movie of epic proportions. However, if there's one thing that these companies can learn from haircare brand Pantene this year, it's that turning on America's feels doesn't have to be that complicated - just bring in the adorableness of some NFL kids! Pantene's 'Dad-Do' Super Bowl campaign features a number of popular NFL fathers taking a stab at styling their daughters' hair with Pantene products. Like you could probably guess, they definitely struggle through it, but with some adorable encouragement from their daughters, the results are very much 'aww'-worthy. (My personal favorite is pictured above: DeAngelo Williams of the Pittsburgh Steelers versus his daughter Rhiya's braids and bows.) Benjamin Watson, tight end for the New Orleans Saints, displayed some pigtail game earning an impressed high five from his daughter, Grace. (He tried to argue that bigger hands make it hard for athletes to style hair, but he didn't do too bad for a first-timer!) The Dallas Cowboys' Jason Witten's adorable daughter Landry was SUPPOSED to get a braided ballerina bun, but let's just say there were some complications on the way. (Hey, if there's anything the Cowboys learned this season, it's that you can't win 'em all!) Click the video above for a look at the finished 30-second Super Bowl ad, or visit Pantene's official YouTube Channel to watch the full styling videos from each athlete. So how do you think they did? Was this concept just as adorable to you as it was to me? Let me know in the comments below and for more trending videos from across the web, follow my YouTube Nation collection!
