Tennessee Wonderland: Exploring an Abandoned Mountain Neighborhood and Hotel
These pictures and videos, shared by Jordan Lilies, documents the area of Elkmont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The hotel and homes here were built as early as the 1920s, but were all closed by the early 1990s when the government seized the land. I am not sure why some websites are saying that this land has gone untouched "for 100 years", or that he found something that was lost and hidden away for a long time. That's certainly not true.
Still, it's a beautiful area: where can your treks take you? If you do some research, you might be able to find similarly beautiful areas in your area!
