Not long after Jennifer Lawrence told the world that hacking into celebrity accounts to steal and publicize nude images was a sex crime, she and several other affected stars chose to bring a lawsuit against Google for what they are saying was “facilitating and perpetuating” these crimes against women. It’s refreshing to me to see young women in Hollywood taking a stand and fighting back against those responsible for the distribution of their private photos. The social climate for woman has seemed so volatile lately, and the idea of having images like the ones stolen all over the internet is unthinkable to me. I’m not sure I would have the kind of strength to survive something like that, let alone fight back and try to make a change in the world.
i found my dick in the internet once
@somnia here here!
@pixiedust here's to hoping something positive comes out of this whole mess
@csgeek @somnia I agree, I don't think it's something that will be going to away with a quiet settlement though. This isn't the kind of issue that can be solved with money, especially not given the social climate right now.
hey go j.law and the rest of them for fighting back, I hate when people blame the celebrities who this happens to and they have every right to take a stand because it's not their fault, it's the fault of the hackers and organizations like google making a profit off of it.
