You might not know the show "Gravity Falls," (its a Disney Channel produced cartoon series), but even if you don't you can see the way that this anime short, produced entirely by one guy, is really awesome! Mike Inel had the idea (mostly for practice, partially out of curiosity) to take an episode of Gravity Falls and redo it in the "anime style." Imagine, for a moment, if everything at Disney was done in the style of a Japanese anime. Sure, there are many overlaps, but the styles of Japanese and US Animation are distinctly different, and this is just one example of that. The animation in the original show is polished and cool to look at, sure, so the new anime spin that animator Mike Inel has put on it isn’t necessarily improving on the original, but it definitely looks cool and obviously took a lot of work. Just an interesting experiment, and a reminder of the way we perceive a show's story can be totally changed just by changing the animation style!
