I know one of the biggest questions art students have when stocking up on supplies is what the difference between 'student' quality and 'professional' quality acrylic paint is. Going into the acrylic paint section of any art supply store can be really intimidating, but if you already know the nature of the projects you'll be using it on, not only will it save you a lot of time and money - but also a lot of paint! Here is a really great video where a Blick artist shows you a side-by-side comparison of what student and professional grade paint looks like. Generally, art students don't NEED professional quality paint. However, as you'll see in this video, different projects require different types of care, and you might find yourself in situations where it would be wise to invest in professional grade. I hope this is helpful to some of you out there that might have been a little confused on the topic. Keep this video in mind next time you're picking up some new tubes!

I love Blick!! This is a really good video, especially because I always seem to put quality aside when I see a cheaper alternative :.

@sophiamor Sometimes cheaper alternatives are okay! Not everyone needs the good stuff. :)
