INGREDIENTS 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 onion, chopped 3 garlic cloves, minced 2 cups tomato sauce 1 large red bell pepper, diced 1½ cups cooked or canned brown lentils, rinsed and drained ½ tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. dried oregano 1 tsp. dried basil ½ tsp. salt ¼ tsp. pepper INSTRUCTIONS Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and saute another minute, until fragrant. Add all remaining ingredients and lower heat to medium. Simmer about 15 minutes, until peppers are tender and sauce has thickened a bit.
I wouldn't even need pasta to go with this - just eat it straight from the sauce pan!
Sounds delicious, and a much healthier alternative to ground beef! This sounds like it would be really good with some rice actually!
Honestly this sounds better than any beef bolognese I've ever had
This looks like a lentil-chili sauce, yum!
Lentil bolognese sounds amazing! I would pack this with more carrots and tomatoes though :)
