Turmeric is normally found in dishes like curry, giving whatever food it touches a warm orange color. This spice has the incredible ability to work as an anti-inflammatory as well as a nice little kick of flavor. Turmeric has been used to relieve everything from liver problems to depression to ringworm in folk medicine! Here are some benefits of turmeric that you might not have known: - Turmeric can tame heartburn and an upset stomach. Turmeric's anti-inflammatory power is great at helping you calm down heart burn and even soothe an aching stomach. - A compound in turmeric may ward off heart attacks. While not a substitute for medication, the researchers pointed out, the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric may contribute to as much as a 65 percent lower chance of heart attack among bypass patients. - Turmeric may curb joint pain. For those of you with joint pain or arthritis, taking turmeric daily in capsule form can be an anti-inflammatory strong enough to get rid of a majority of those aches and pains. - Studies show it may delay diabetes. Among people with prediabetes, turmeric capsules were found to delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes in a 2012 study.

I put turmeric in everything. Just through it into whatever sauce you're cooking and you're good! I don't notice too much or a taste difference.

Didn't know about all these benefits! I love curry but don't eat it too often. Guess I need to visit the Indian restaurant more often!

I want to show these to my grandma; she always says she doesn't like indian food but if she knew it was good for her she might change her mind!

I had no idea turmeric helped with heartburn or stomach troubles! It seems counter intuitive since curry isn't the gentlest food, but I'll try some out next time!
